(NC) Mar 24 2018 Spring Cub Weekend #1 (Four Oaks)

Date:
24 March, 2018

Location:
Venue: Camp Tuscarora
Venue address: 1433 Scout Rd
Four Oaks, North Carolina

Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can):
Cub/Boy Scouts and their families camped for the weekend at Camp Tuscarora. Troopers set up a table and greeted families as they either entered or left the grounds. Foot traffic was slow, so the troopers set off to roam the grounds. Not long after beginning the tour the troopers were surrounded by young scouts and families. The boys were enthusiastic in their questions and quickly surmised a thorough back-story as to how, why, and what these two troopers where doing on the planet. The summary of their story included the two troopers, stranded planet-side after the destruction of the Death Star, searching for a ship to return to their boss Darth Vader. The entourage of scouts followed, and sometimes led, the troopers to various events and locations around the camp grounds. The final stop was the spaceship relay race at which groups of scouts would race homemade (cardboard) ships back and forth. After the TIE pilot flew in the race, and bid the scouts farewell, the troopers reported back to headquarters.

Event Length (Hours):
Event was a weekend long; 501st involvement occurred from 1100 - 1300 (2 hours) on the 24th.
