Re: New hopeful Shoretrooper, Charlotte area

Lots has happened since my last update! I've finished painting, weathering, and 3D printing so now, my kit is done!
There are still dozens of Upgrades I still want to add but it's all together and wearable.
I sent in photos Saturday and I'm hoping to wear back soon. but I'm really happy with where i got.

Re: New hopeful Shoretrooper, Charlotte area

Hello everyone!
I've been busy with college but I've acquired the screen used paint and took the time this past weekend to paint everything up!
[quick note, the helmet is missing the blast shield because they are assembled separately, See last photo for image of helmet with blast shield.]

Once the base Coat was done, it was time for my favorite part of prop making, and the main reason I went for the shore trooper grunt, Weathering!

Lastly, a quick comparison between my helmet and screen used, and the Anovos replica

Question about new Costume for CRL -imperial mandalorian com

Hello everyone!
Minor spoilers for star wars rebels season three.

A new bounty hunter costume is introduced in the third season of Rebels as the "Imperial Mandalorian Commandos".
I checked the Rebel Legion and the 501st CRL but I can't find any CRL made or in progress for this costume.
What would be the process if I wanted to try and build this and get it up to 501st standards? Is this allowed? I'd love more info on working on costumes no one has done yet, Thanks guys!

Re: New hopeful Shoretrooper, Charlotte area

Good week everyone!
I worked a week ahead in college work to give me time to work on my Trooper all weekend. I got the Chest done and saw immediately that I'm going to need about 3 inches of Shims on the side of the Chest and Torso. Oops.
So if anyone has suggestions on how to do that cleanly and up to par with regs, I would love that, this is my first kit and I'm a bit overwelmed.

I'm mulling over the Idea of changing from a shoretrooper to a deathtrooper since Carolina Garrison now has a Krennic and I am 6'4 already. but that depends on the number of differences in the armor.

Lastly I just wanted to show off my costume to Heroescon 2017. I only had the helmet and nothing else so I threw together something really quick and fun that got a lot of smiles and laughs. Thanks to Vader for the Photo!!

This is the 850 v3 kit
I'm a really tall guy at 6'4 and their kit allowed a ton of sizes and fit up to a 50 inch chest with the v3 and I believe the v2 as well.

While I loved details in the Jim fiberglass kit and the KB kit, they were just too small to work for me.
That said I might grab KB's AT-ACT helmet pretty soon. it's fantastic.
[side note while talking about ST armor the only kit I dont know about is the BSP kit I honestly never looked into them]

Helmet and gaunts -ST charlotte

This project has been so much fun! I've got the gaunts and helmet assembled and I've ordered the rest of the armor last week, I'm just waiting for it to ship.

I went ahead and painted everything up but I'll be redoing it. Weather is my favorite part of every build, but I think i've over done it in my excitement. I can't wait to finish this up and get trooping!

karmajay wrote:Do you have a pathfinders site account? There are a lot of build threads over there. Here is an excellent one that may be able to help you with that armor type. I have the fiberglass armor so all the details were molded already for me.

I can not thank you enough for that Link!
I hadn't found any build for the 850 armor as comprehensive as that thread. It's a massive help.

Hopefully I'll have my Helmet done by the end of this weekend.

Shoretrooper, Charlotte area

I'm back with Updates on the shoretrooper,

but first, I got to meet some of you guys in person at SCCC last weekend and you guys were awesome. It was great to talk about star wars armor with people who matched my enthusiasm and just spoke the same language. I was in my tan Mando most of the day so if you were there saturday "Hi! you all looked amazing!"

Back to the shoretrooper,
I've gotten and cut all of the gauntlets, but I'm having a really hard time figuring out how they go together.

The helmet is totally cut and sanded , but there were a lot of bubbles in the recesses of the cast. They are being a pain to get out with my dremel and overall it's taking a lot longer than I expected. These have to go before I paint it up, I'd save I am maybe 12 hours of work on it from painting since I also have to bondo a few spots.

I hope to be at Heroscon as a casual version of the Shoretrooper with the Helmet and a Tropical shirt since there is no way I can get the torso and Greaves done in time with school. But I'm having a blast building it which is what matters!

New hopeful Shoretrooper, Charlotte area

Hello Carolina Garrison!
My names Adrian, I'm from Kannapolis [tiny tiny place above charlotte]
I've been a star wars fan as long as I can remember and it's been a goal to join the 501st since I was 12.
Last summer I started my Mando and I'm just about finished with it now, I did my first un offical troop in the armor at Minicon this weekend and nothing big broke so yay! Hopefully I'll be sending in my approval pics for that this week.
Anyway I decided it was time for a new build. I've just ordered the Shoretrooper helmet Friday and I should get it later this week. I joined Spec ops forum way back when I thought the CRL was going over there but then it wound up in Path finders [which I think is great] so I joined the forum over there. I love the color and armor design, I'm going for general grunt trooper [no kama].

I'm a college student working on a Major in Graphic design so my builds are often slow burns, but it gives me time to get everything cozy on me. sooooo, yeah I think that's about it. I cant wait to get cracking on the build!
