I would love to get this item done & I think we could make it work for you by putting a little twist on the way we shoot the prompt. My idea to make that work: the stormtrooper will be leading the class by teaching them a traditional stromtrooper pose, all his students will be mimicking his pose. So no need to do any crazy yoga poses, or to change the way stromtroopers are seen (though much of GISH is putting a fun/weird spin things).

The trooper I have worked with in the past (in New Orleans) did it just for fun, and I knew him well through my connection to the Sci-Fi Mardi Gras Parade Chewbacchus, which I have paraded with for years. Now that I live in Asheville, I don't know any local Stormtroopers, so I am reaching out here.

We will provide snacks, drinks,etc & it will be a guaranteed fun time! As Kyle Beagle mentioned, there is a long history of GISH -stormtrooper collaboration. Gish LOVES stormtroopers, there is always at least one Stormtrooper item every year.

Hi there, valiant members of the Carolina Garrison!

My Gish team (Greatest international scavenger hunt) needs the help of one (or more) storm troopers who would be willing to pose for a photo. We are in the Asheville area & we have a little less than a week to complete this challenge, and will make all the arrangements to accommodate your schedule. The prompt for the item reads:

"Modern stormtroopers are so much more enlightened these days. They’re in touch with their “new age” side and have their chakras aligned. In fact, you just spotted one teaching a yoga class or leading some other new-age class."

The deadline to complete it is end of day Saturday, August 4th. Would any of you be willing to take on this challenge with us?

Hi There!

I am going to participate in GISHWHES "The Greatest Scavenger Hunt The World Has Ever Seen" for the fourth time this year. Every year there is an item that involves a Stormtrooper. In previous years I was living in New Orleans and one of my friends in the the 501st there, who is also in Chewbacchus (a huge scifi/fantasy walking Mardi Gras parade) was kind enough to be part of the hunt with me. Now that I have moved to Asheville & am new to the area, I haven't connected with the community yet, but was hoping one of the noble members of the Carolina Garrison would be interested in joining the fun with my team this year. The hunt takes place from August 5th - 12th, the time commitment for the trooper would be an hour or so, and we would provide snacks, or a favorite treat, or beer (TBD by the troooper) .... The item usually involves taking a photo of the trooper with a team member in a incongruous situation; previous examples include showing the storm trooper being pampered, performing a menial task, and learning an archaic skill, but we won't know what the item is this year until 11am on the 5th when the list is released. If anyone is interested, you can reply to me here. Also if any trooper is looking to join a GISHWHES team, my team currently has 2 spots available - we will be very active in NC, over half of our 15 member team lives in Asheville. You can make crazy, kind, fun art with us for a whole week! I will try to check the forum every day between now and the hunt.
