Welcome Lucas, I'm in South Carolina and also assembling the costume from ep.1
There are two Facebook groups with a ton of great info and recommended vendor lists.
The first was set up by a 501st member I've known for a while now.

The second is a more generalized group.

By far the best helmet I've seen yet has come from Artisan FX on Facebook. Warning, its not cheap. Also check out jsnprops.

Re: Possible visit in Mooresville
I'll let the Officer team weigh in on the branding on the bell. My personal take would be that for visiting members, if you're approved with the branding then it's fine. But again, best we get the command staff to sign off.
Regardless, happy holidays and all the best to you and yours. Looking forward to seeing you in 2019!

Re: Possible visit in Mooresville
Hi Dave, thanks for reaching out! I'm about a 4 hr drive away, but I will circulate this to the North Carolina folks and see what type of interest we can generate.
Wishing you and your family all the best over the holiday season.

(SC) July 7 Columbia Speedway Curing Kids Cancer (Cayce)
Date:
July 7th, 2018
Location:
Cayce Speedway, South Carolina
Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can):
Curing Kids Cancer and the Derrick family are excited to be teaming up for Landon's Jeep Jamboree with Curing Kids Cancer! This event is making Landon's dream of seeing lots of Jeeps from across the country come true while donating all proceeds to one of his favorite organizations - Curing Kids Cancer!
Trooper's Take
This event was a blast! Lots of activity and interest, we were busy the entire time! Such a rewarding experience to meet little Landon and his family. He was shocked to see us (the best expression ever)! We did deliver some wrapped gifts to him (which I'm sure he will love). We also met Miss Soda City, and we were present on stage for the live auction. Our Jawa passed out trinkets to all the kids (gold coins, gems and the like).
Changing facility was an old ticket booth. While a bit worn-for-wear, I've changed in far worse.
Our hosts were great, and treated us really well and thanked us profusely for coming out.
We brought, ice cold drinks, sandwiches, fruit and desert for any trooper that wanted to partake.
