Potentially you could save 500 or better doing yourself. But yes I imagine you could save a few hundred resourcing locally.
Good to know, thanks!

What about a blaster? I didn't see it on the list. So basically I could save $200-$300?Cantina Security wrote:Yes I remember talking. Yes a Jeremy is in our garrison. Not sure but I would think you could have one done localy for 1200 maybe.
Armor 500 ish
Boots 100
Undersuit 50
Belt/holster 80
Labor 500
Glues Velcro and strapping 20
Assuming all goes well.

Re: Need Help-I’m A Non-501st Member
Hey Jason...I just replied to your post on my other thread. Thanks for all of your info! How tall are you? I would love to be a TK or Kylo Ren. The major issue I have with being Kylo is that I would feel a little weird being a short Kylo and what others would think about that lol. I shouldn’t care what people think but sometimes I do. I think I would rather do a First Order TK than a ANH or ESB TK but I read that First Order armor is very hard to come by. Is this true?Cantina Security wrote:Go with what speaks to you. A TK can be achieved with trimming and modifications. Tusken raider is awesome and accommodates us shorter folks. Royal guard? All will cost a bit, but once you get started , the dark side is a path no one can resist. Resale is also an option if things get tight.
Look around, search your feelings..weigh your options...good luck, and most importantly, have fun!

Re: TK Fully Assembled Ready To Wear Costume?
Hey Jason! Do you remember emailing back and forth with me the other day? Is Jeremy Pastros a member of the Carolina Garrison? I know a full commission would be around $1500. I’m wondering how much I could save if I have someone else commission it?Cantina Security wrote:We have some local members that offer build commissions. We can even resource the armor locally as well. Shawn Cantey from Crooknight Trooper Packs does commission builds. Jeremy Pastros can hammer out a build fairly quickly. I can help Supply hard armor. While RS is top of the line , you may be able to resource it in Garrison.
Walts Trooper Factory offers assembly services. (Connecticut)
TrooperMaster sells fully built (U.K.)
RS full commission (U.K.)
Check your budget and weigh out your options , see what works best.

TK-90499 wrote:Have you considered building a suit yourself? The reason I ask is that it really isn't that difficult. It's pretty much cut & glue, like a model kit. The benefit is a sense of pride, the armor fitting your body correctly, and knowing how to repair it when the time comes, and it will come eventually. It's also far cheaper to build a suit yourself. We have people who can provide the kit, you'd just need some simple tools and some time. And armor parties are fun.
The only downside to a kit is that Boots, blaster and softgoods are separate, of course. But those can be found easily and again, it's cheaper not to commission a suit. Just some thoughts to consider.
If you do go for a full commission, RS would be my first choice. Very costly and lengthy wait but excellent armor.
I haven't really considered it because I'm horrible at that kind of thing easy or not lol. How much money can I save if I built it myself? Do you know any vendors besides Anovos that does full commission First Order TK? Reading around on Whitearmor.net it seems that there isn't much available when it comes to First Order.

Re: TK Fully Assembled Ready To Wear Costume?
Thank you! Anyone else you can recommend? I’d be up for buying a kit but I would want someone locally who could build it for me. I heard there’s not a lot of First Order armor available now?Turks68 wrote:Hey PJ! Glad your interested in joining he ranks. RS Prop Masters is a fantastic source for ready to wear commissioned armor. You’ll pay a lot but the quality of it is fantastic. I would highly recommend going them. It should be noted also that it takes about two months to get your set so be prepared to play the waiting game.

TK Fully Assembled Ready To Wear Costume?
I’m looking to possibly buy a TK costume that’s fully assembled and ready to wear. Has anyone else on here done that? What are some good places to go? I heard RS Propmasters is good. What about Stormtrooper-costumes.com? They supposedly have sold a lot of their costumes to 501st members and have a link to the Carolina Garrison on their site. Jason Hill said he could provide the armor and that there’s members that can commision the build. So in a nutshell I want to get a complete costume without any building etc on my part lol. I appreciate any help or tips, thanks!

$1500 isn’t that bad imo. Can’t wait to see pics of it when it’s done.NCwerewolf wrote:Not much, so far. Only $250 and that got me the boots and a cummerbund piece with the pouches. I'm eyeballin some soft goods next. It appears I'll be spending around $1500 roughly on a complete kit. I'm selling an extra shotgun tomorrow to fund the armor, lol. It seems shockingly expensive to bust into this hobby at first glance, but after I started doing the math, it ends up being cheaper than my other hobbies. frell, I'm about $2500 into the X-wing tabletop miniatures game and I don't even have the two newest waves. Lolol. That's what decided the issue for me in the first place: once you get a complete kit, the recurring cost is low to continue this adventure.pjtoadie wrote:How much money are you into your Scout costume? Actually Jason and I have been emailing each other this morning because I had questions about membership. I’ll have to reach back out to him about TK kits and assembly. Thanks!bobafett4ever wrote:Our very own Carolina member, Jason Hill, has a shop called Intergalactic Supply (check it out on Facebook). He makes TK, Tie, Navy Trooper Helmets, among other things. Thanks!
I have his Navy Trooper helmet, and know a lot of folks with his TIE kits and a few TK kits. He does an excellent job - well worth it!
Any if you get a kit, folks around the area have kit building parties every once-in-a-while. Could always get hooked up into one of them if you need help completing your kit.

bobafett4ever wrote:I'm sure a Kylo can chime in, but the clothe for those robes are expensive, and they have layers. I'd assume a Kylo costs as least as much as a Stormtrooper (which we call TKs). I don’t have much interest in being Bridge Crew/Tie reserve/scanning Crew. I would want to be Kylo, Stormtrooper, or a Scout Trooper. I’m a little interested in being a TIE Pilot or something similar. I’m not 100% opposed to being a Jawa or Tusken Raider either. Money is a little tight so would what you recommend money wise for what I listed? Is Kylo that much more expensive than a Stormtrooper? Thanks!bobafett4ever wrote:I agree with Wolf. It really comes down to what do you want to be?
Kylo will be a few pretty pennies, so if you're not 100% sure on that, I'd do a cheaper costume to get in then you can get a feel for if you want to do Kylo. I know of a few Kylo's around the Raleigh area, and they're top notch. They say it's pretty crazy hot under the LAYERS of robes they must wear, lol
If you want more info on what may be cheaper, or have an idea of something else you're thinking about, let us know!

My guess would be in order of cost most expensive to least is Kylo > TK > Scout > TIE > Tuskin > Jawa. Jawa will run you about $450-$500. TK with full armor and underclothing and decent weapon say maybe $1200.
Don't let that deter you... I'm an Officer and it took me 18 months to get my $500 for my first outfit... So I understand a tight budget!

I ran into the same problem recently. I'm such a freak about Star Wars I was like cI wanna be EVERYBODY!" But alas, my wallet says "Negative, Ghostrider." I fell back on the character I have always thought was the coolest ever since I saw them in the theater in 1985. We called them "speeder bikers" when I was a kid and since that all I do is ride my own speeder bike these days, it seemed a natural first costume. And yes, when it's complete, I *will* ride around town in costume and I *will* get pulled for an improper helmet. Lmao
Moral of my story: do what you want, have maximum fun, and to Hades with the consequences.

Lol, was it the Jawa comment that you can have fun with? I love Scout Troopers! Riding around on your bike will be awesome! I guess Kylo Ren isn’t as tall in stature as Darth Vader so I could probably get away with it lol. He does seem to crouch a little as opposed to Vader who always stands tall. I’m waiting for a moderator or a member to say “aren’t you a little short to be Kylo Ren”
