We helped out Roper Mt. Science Center at their large tent that displayed STEAM type projects for kids to take part in and learn about. We helped out in front of their display by taking pictures with kids and parents. Roper Mt. is doing a Star Wars day in October so this helped them also get the word out on that. During the hours of 12:00 and 3:00, we were at the stage that Roper Mt. did for displaying science experiments that relate to Star Wars. It was a great show for the kids to learn about liquid nitrogen, dry ice, air, vapor and properties of solid, liquid and gas. It was a big turnout with a lot of families in attendance.

Description of Event:
Roper Mt. asked us to come out to help with their Second Saturday event on March 10 that was around space and the science of space. The event was from 9-3. We had two tables to display our
garrison items, coloring pages, cards, etc. (Big thanks to Steven and Mat). This event was huge and included labs with science experiments around space. The operations manager of the ISS (International Space Station) joined the event that day and gave a number of presentations. It was a great event and they have asked us to come out to their October Star Wars event.

Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can):
Roper Mountain Science Center held a Maker Fair ("Maker Mania"). They had us come out for the event to troop and to showcase the craftsmanship and detail that goes into costuming. The date was November 11th and the hours were from 9:00am - 3:00pm. We had 4 tables on display of props, various armor in stages, types and pieces of costumes to show different builds of materials, 3D printing. Todd brought his home built hovercraft for kids to ride, his son Dalton brought his mouse droid, Kevin brought his shoretrooper WIP armor and Steven helped with the table set up including cages and table cloth. We spoke with adults and kids discussing what it takes to be a cosplayer...and advertise for garrison as well.

Description of Event:
The Greenville Swamp Rabbits Hockey team had us out to the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in downtown Greenville, SC for their Star Wars Night event again. The Swamp Rabbits hockey team offered an open invite to costumed fan groups to attend their event on November 17, 2017. This has been a great and fun event for many years now. We were a part of many different activities like t-shirt toss, t-shirt gun, photo booth, chuck a carrot, trooper shoot, etc. They once again put on a great event and the groups all had a great time. Good news was the Greenville Swamp Rabbits won the game!

Thanks for your willingness to participate in this exciting weekend! Over the past nine years, we have developed a fantastic relationship with the Carolina Garrison and the Mando Mercs and love having you all attend our public events; your participation greatly enhances the experience for our guests! For this event, we expect large crowds all weekend for the solar eclipse, including Monday’s sellout, with over 2500 guests in attendance on the day of the eclipse.

The garrison took part in the event to help the venue with their various displays and activities about the eclipse and science. On the eclipse day, we also took part in the viewing.

Description of Event:
The Greenville Swamp Rabbits Hockey team had us out again for their annual Star Wars night at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in downtown Greenville, SC. This has been a great and fun event for many years now and thanks to the continued support from our great group of people, they want to have us come out again next year! They did many different activities again with us like ceremonial Darth Vader and troops puck drop, t-shirt toss, walking the concourse and on the ice pumping up the crowd, and many many photo opps throughout the night including a green screen set up for anyone to get pictures with the 501st. They do a really great job with their events and are structured well enough that we are able to cover all event element needs due to time schedules and direct working relations with our handlers. Speaking of handlers, special thanks go out to Mike, Grayson and Bolt whom where there and helped get our members from concourse to ice and other locations within times needed. Could not have done it without you all! Finally thanks to Megan Dotson and her staff at the Greenville Swamp Rabbits and the Bon Secours Wellness Arena staff for being very hospitable and giving us the large changing room, pizza, plenty of water, and security over the room.

Looking forward to more troops with you all and let's continue to help out the Upstate SC in what we do for the community. Please look out later for information on the Greenville Drive schedule for their Star Wars night as the contact with their team was there last night and wants to host us as well!

Description of Event:
The Regal Simpsonville Stadium 14 & IMAX movie theater in Simpsonville, SC asked us to come out and be a part of their opening weekend for the Rogue One movie. The date was chosen for the Friday December 16 and the troop was scheduled for 6:00-9:00pm with some of the group trooping a little before 6:00 (thanks guys for being early). The theater was very nice and accommodating and very happy that we were able to come. We were a big hit as countless numbers of fans took pictures and many were floored when they saw us. It was a great troop and a cold troop (felt Hoth-like dipping to 29 degrees). It was great to have met new people and old friends while making new ones as well. Glad to see a good group back up here in the upstate. Looking forward to future events together. We were also able to see the movie after the troop with the theater being nice and roping off a section at the 9:30 movie for those that paid to see it and trooped the event. The general manager even wants to work on a Kylo Ren to join our ranks!

They already asked if we could come back next year for Episode 8! Next year looking to get a charity option involved possibly in conjunction with the local Simpsonville PD or town of Simpsonville.

Description of Event:
We had an opportunity to make $1000 for Make-a-Wish for trooping this event!!! Michelin Family Picnic event at Michelin in Greenville (515 Michelin Rd, Greenville, SC 29605). They held an employee event and asked for at least 2 troopers. If we had 1 trooper then they will donate $500 but if we had 2 or more then they will donate $1000. They asked for us to be out there to hang out with the families that will be in attendance and take photographs with them. The event was huge and they had music, bounce houses, carnival games, face painting, laser tag, rock wall climb and many more things to do. The feature of their event was Star Wars theme so we went great with their theme. It was a 4 hour troop but worth it is we raised the funds for the kids of Make A Wish. It is why we do this to help kids, right?

Cub Scout Pack 221 Blue and Gold Banquet at the Mauldin Cultural Center

Description of Event:
The Cub Scouts have an annual themed banquet to celebrate the crossing over of the oldest members to the Boy Scouts. This is a family event, this years theme is Star Wars. We got there and were a part of the opening part of the banquet by walking around the venue and getting professional pictures with the guests. There were 35 scouts there with a total of about 100 people. This was a fun event and we were thanked openly by the scouts at the start of the event. Waiting on the event coordinator to get me the pictures that they took so I can post here.

Did this event support a charity? If yes, which charity?:
Indirectly - The scouts are going to use the surplus of money between budget and actual costs to donate to the Make A Wish foundation. Plans were for the event coordinator to book this through the 501st Legion site.

Event Details/Description:
The Well (Formerly the Bi Lo Center) in Greenville had us back again this year for their annual Star Wars night at the hockey game. Had a great time last night. With all the number of events this past week/weekend, it ended up being just me and Rob who were both in TK gear. The arena did a great job and incorporated us in all their time out breaks and in between period events. We got to do T shirt tosses, meet and greets, phot ops, trivia time and ride around on the ice on a UTV throwing out shirts. They will do this again next year and will let us know as early as possible and I can get it up here for people to sign up for.
