[attachment=0]Date: September 24th
Location: Hickory NC
Description of Event: (Please share as much info as you can): Large one day comic, sci-fi, gaming and cosplay convention. this was the biggest Hickory Con to date. the spring con had a little over 1600 in attendance and the fall had 1974. The con promoters said that the building had almost reached its limit as far as fire code. no a bad outing. Shannon and I trooped the floors, talked to con goers about joining, passed out cards, and talked to over venue promoters about future events with the 501st. all in all it was a great con.

(NC) April 30th - Hickory Con (Hickory)
Date:April 30th
Location:Hickory Convention Center, Hickory, NC.
Description of the event: NC's largest one day Con and it really showed this year. The Con opened up at 10 am with a line that had already formed though out the building. We are given a table each year for the draw that the 501st has at the con. I had brought with me several helmets to display on the table. The Con itself consisted of Comics, Toys, games, Artist, and Cosplayers. There was over 1600 people that came through on Saturday, with over 100 vendors. We hung out around the table answered questions, posed for photos, and walked around the con in costume. We also has a couple of aspiring member drop by the table to talk about their armor and builds they were currently working on. About mid day there was a Costume Contest, which the Star Trek group, the Morganton Spider-Man and I judged. At 5pm the Con closed. This was by far the best Hickory Con and it seems like it will only get bigger and better from here. the next HickoryCon will September 24th! Thank you all again!
Length of the event:7 hours
members in attendance:
Shannon Cromer TK10139 -Stormtrooper
Jackson Stull TK2063 - Stormtrooper
Mike Johnson - Republic Commando Scorch
Mando Mercs in VA
Eric Crutchfield
Mike Jarvis

(NC) Sept. 27th - HickoryCon Hickory NC
Hickory Con Fall 2014 September 27th
Hickory Con is a one day con featuring artist, comic and sci-fi vendors, and hosts large card game tournaments. The CG has been participating in this event since September of 2006 twice a year (Spring and Fall). This was one of the largest Cons they have had with over 650 paying attendees (which was around 2pm so many more could have come through the doors) At 2pm Jesse, Cher, and I judged the costuming contest, where there were some amazing costumes in attendance.
Troopers in attendance
Tom Gardner – Tusken
Mike Johnson – TK Commander
Ken Jordan – Watch the table and wrangled
Jesse Martin – TX
Jackson Stull – TK
MAW donations - $55
We had a blast trooping and continued into the fellowship after the con at PDQ!

You can find all the pictures from the con here - http://s42.photobucket.com/user/501tom/ ... %209272014

September 28th Hickory Con!
Fall Hickory Con went on without a hitch!
Eddie and Timmy (Hickory Con guys) were kind enough to give us a free table x2.
This is the 7th year we have participated in Hickory Con which makes it our 14th Con and It seems that the Con grows larger every year.
We had a blast loving on some kids and posing with some adults! the greatest part were we had two special kids that hung out with us for a larger part of the time.
We displayed a large portion of helmets, props, cards, and the KT notebook for folks to learn about what we do and have done.
Those in costume were
Tom Gardner - Tk
David Jordan - TB
Ken Jordan - TB
Mike Johnson - A'Sharad Hett
As always our goal was to share our love of star wars with the communty and we had a lot of fun doing it.
thank you again for those in attendance and this year and years past without you guys this Con would not be near as wonderful as it has been.
Long Live the Empire.
