I never thanked Shanda properly for putting a roof over our heads! This was an epic event! The heat on Saturday was also epic.
I'm glad Sunday was cooler for everyone. Maybe I'll have a Cool Suit to combat the heat in two year's time...I'll bring more #NOTVADER signs too.
CHEERS! (See everyone at HeroesCon)

Re: What does the 501 think about the Hasbro helmet
I was 14 years old again when I saw it at the Toys R Us "Rogue One" midnight toy release. I troop as a TIE Pilot, and can't afford multiple sets of SW Armor. This is perfect for someone that wants a full size helmet but doesn't want to pay $150.00 or more for a vac-formed helmet kit. It sure beats heck out of my vintage Don Post Vader helmet! How it will be received by the 501st costuming community remains to be seen - it's nicer than the screen used helmets in several areas, but that's the very problem in a nutshell. I'd hate to have to Bondo over those pretty helmet vents just so they can be replaced by decal stripes. Stay tuned to see what happens. I'm "TIE 'til I die" so I'm just fine with it!

Hey Patrick!
It's good to have you back! I don't hit the forums as much as I should, so I miss a lot.
I do hope we can troop together again soon.

Congrats on a great troop! Texas Road House in Gastonia has hosted the Carolina Garrison several times and supported our fundraising efforts as well. Glad to see that other locations are doing the same!

Re: (NC) Feb.27 Pack 28 Blue And Gold Dinner (Dallas NC)
Thanks! Not too bad for a three day project. I'm working on CAD plans to build an R/C Droid with Dalton. I can't afford a full-on Droid builders version but I promise it will be MUCH nicer than ol' R@-DYB! Ken really saved my butt on the static Droid build for sure.

(NC) Feb.27 Pack 28 Blue And Gold Dinner (Dallas NC)
Date:
Feb.27, 2016
Location:
Antioch Lutheran Church, Dallas NC
Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can):
Cub Scout Pack 28 held it's annual Blue And Gold Dinner to recognize the Webelos Scouts that participated in a Bridging Ceremony as they transitioned to become Boy Scouts in Troop 28. Tiger Cub Scouts along with Wolf, and Bear Cub Scouts also advanced to their next respective rank in the Pack. The theme for this year's banquet was "Star Wars". Scouts participated in a Father and Son Desert Contest, and winners in five different categories were chosen. In addition to their "Golden Spatula" trophies, the five winners were given a 501st Legion themed patch, pulled at random from my old TIE Pilot helmet.
Cub Scout Leader Brian Eason is a huge fan of all things "Star Wars" and he invited us to the Dinner as a surprise to his Scouts and their families. The response from the Cub Scouts and their families was in a word "IMPRESSIVE!"
Prior to the event, Brian Eason and I collaborated on a special static Droid named R2-DYB in honor of the Scout Motto:"Do Your Best". Special thanks must be given to Ken Jordan for working past midnight with me building R2-DYB the night before the dinner the following day. I could not have done it without him!
While no funds were collected for charity at this event, public awareness about the 501st Legion and the Carolina Garrison was greatly enhanced in a very positive way. Several Adult Scout Leaders have expressed an interest in joining our ranks!
Event Length (Hours):
The event ran from approximately 6:00 - 8:30 pm
Carolina Garrison Members in Attendance:
1.TK-976 (Cheralyn Lambeth) - Princess Lea
2.TR-2442 (Charles Moss) - Royal Guard
3.TB-6559 (David Jordan) - Biker Scout
4.TB-1345 (Ken Jordan) - Biker Scout
Handlers:
1.Todd Hoyle
2.Dalton Hoyle
Crossover Attendees from the Rebel Legion / R2 Builders Club / Mando Mercs:(delete this section if not applicable)
1.Jennifer DeVoll - Rey
2.Bryan Reniker and Family (R2 Builders)
3.Eric Guthrie (Former Scout in both Pack 28 and Troop 28 - also my favorite cousin) appeared as a nameless TIE Pilot

Re: User ID Changes
I see now that you will need the help from one of the CG Forum Admin folks to make the ID change. Just click on Gold colored Command Staff listing on the bottom of the screen on the front page, and send a PM to an Admin who will be happy to help.

Re: The Empire just got a little bigger
Finding correct boots in ANY size is probably going to be your greatest challenge. The Sportsman's Guide surplus site is a good starting point. I joined the 501st back in 2006 and the costume standards were a bit more relaxed in those days. I've had five different pairs of boots since joining the Legion - Mechanic's boots (no longer approved) Black PVC Vinyl boots (don't know if they still approve them now) and now my third pair of surplus Officer boots bought from a fellow CG member are my "Go To" boots. Beware buying what you cannot see and try on to see how they fit. The European shoe sizes are smaller than USA sizing, but you probably already know that. I wish much luck!

Re: User ID Changes
I haven't changed anything in so long, I'm not sure myself! Take a look at the top left corner and click on User Control Panel.
Once you get that going, there are several options to choose from.
Good luck!
