cherrydale elementary school had a star wars themed math and science event and requested us to come out and walk around and take pictures. after we arrived and suited up we stood in the main entryway of the school right behind the table the parents and students would stop out when they would come in the front door and see us immediately. We stood for pictures and then after everyone was in and the events had started we walked through the halls to the various areas to interact with the children and take further photos. The parents, Teachers, and children loved having us there, the principal, who invited us seemed to be extremely happy and grateful, she even mentioned she would be spreading the word about us.

PDQ Greenville, SC

Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can):
Fundraiser for MAW foundation greenville. PDQ foods in greenville allowed make a wish to come in and setup a table and take donations for the day. PDQ themselves also committed 10% of all sales for the shift to MAW. We stood infront of the store waving and interacting with people. A few visitors and even just passerby's came over to get pictures with us. the MAW rep and local PDQ staff loved having us there. one employee even told me and later the MAW rep that having us there made his day. besides the 4 official troopers below we had an R2 Droid and for half the day a mini trooper in white and pink armor.

Greenville Zoo

Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can):
the 501st was asked to attend the event the zoo puts on for its "season pass" subscribers to show appreciation. We stood "guard" near some of the animals they had out for petting and holding. It was a great spot right in one of the walkway bends. The look on everyone's faces when they would walk up the hill and around the corner once they would spot us was priceless. most everyone was very excited to see us kids an adults alike. One member, Skylar Leakey also managed to get "arrested" (photo op not real) and the empires troops found new inspiration in survival and combat techniques from snakes with very similar camouflage

Location:
Shriner's Children's Hospital
Greenville, SC

Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can):
this troop was a room to room visit of the hospital. as we walked the halls they would check to see if any of the patients and parents wanted a quick visit from us to get some photos. Over the 2 hours we had many kids that were excited to see us and lots of pictures. Also had an official hospital photographer taking pictures as well. They did say this photos will be on the hospital's facebook page.

Overall it was a great event that brought alot of smiles to kids and parents alike, and even from the hospital staff. After suit down one of the hospital workers and our contact provided us with a lunch and we stayed for a while longer just talking with them and sharing stories and plans. the entire staff thanked us each time they would pass and seemed to really appreciate us being there.
