The successor to Fanticon, Geek Out is in its 2nd year and was held at the Sherrill Center on the UNCA campus. Though a much larger venue than last year, there were less venders due to free comic book day, however next year the event will fall the weekend before FCBD, and should be a 3 day event. So mark you calenders!

The 501st table was set up at from 8am till 5pm, and in attendance we had My self (RC and Vader), Anthony (DS Gunner) along with Jordan for table assistance, and Sean (pilot). Joining us later and after trooping for FCBD we had Michal (Mual) and Will (Jedi), who were at Comic Envy in Asheville; and Darren (TK), who was at Fandemonium Comics in Sylva. Great job doing 2 troops in one day guys!



the Men in Black!

Myself (5540), Steven (DZ-6975 ), and Anthony (IG-28803) hit a local Art venue in downtown Asheville (Zapow) to take some photos with other costumed enthusiast to promote this weekends event at UNCA (Geek Out). We walked down to Battery Park and posed with about 25 other people. the local paper was there along with a few other media journalist, was a good event to build hype for our local con. Only lasted about 2 hours but everyone was very exited to see the 501st.
