Re: TD 4292
Hey Troy! We have quite a few active members in Charleston as well. We usually have several events there every month (when there isn't a plague). We have a Christmas parade in Mt. Pleasant (Just north of Charleston) on December 13th if you're interested.

Re: Dragon Con?
DragonCon isn't really like other cons. We're treated more or less like everyone else. We have to pay the same for hotels and tickets. We don't really "feature". We're just like all the other nerds in costume. This means we have more freedom to do what we want (crazy crossover costumes, drinking, different costumes, drinking, did I mention drinking?) but we don't have all the perks we get from smaller or more family friendly cons.timpanilopp wrote:Sounds awesome. Do members usually buy tickets to some events? or is it like at the other cons where us and our handlers tend to get in for free-ish? Also is it all 3-4 days of the con or do we feature just 1 day. Lol sorry for all of the questions, i know its early and I'm in no rush, I'm just trying to see how much ill have to budget to save for this trip in advance.

Re: New Kylo Ren incoming!
Hello there! I'm a Kylo from Charleston, SC. I have the TFA (hooded) version. I would recommend getting on the 501st Sith Lords Detachment forums and researching exactly what is need for your costume and paying close attention to the CRL. That being said, here are my answers to your questions. If you have any more, http://forum.501stsithlords.com/index.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;? would be the best place to find out, or feel free to ask here or PM me directly. Hope all this helps.
1) Never heard of Amazing Stitching.
2) The Black Series Would have to be heavily modified. There are some better options out there for not much more money, IMO.
3) All 501st approvals will have to be via photos sent by email. Someone who knows the costume may be able to give pointers in person but they would not be able to approve it at that time.
4) I don't know enough about the Disney Parks saber to say if it's approvable or what PFF would do to mod it.
5) I would get approved and then worry about a voice changer after. Whether it interferes with the costume would depend on which version of the costume you do.

Re: (BOOTS) Help Me Imperial Officers, You're My Only Hope..
I doubt very much they were even used. Let alone used in Auschowitz. They are much more likely surplus. And besides the vast majority of German officers in WWII were in the Wehrmacht not the SS. So shouldn't have any connection with that. Hope this helps assuage some of your fears.

(SC) Apr 30 WestView Primary school carnival (Goose Creek)
Date: 4/30/16
Location: Westview Primary School
98 Westview Blvc
Goose Creek, South Carolina 29445
Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can): This event started at around 10am. I was thinking this might be a solo event so I was quite pleased when Chris showed up shortly after. I arrived early and suited up and after a few minutes of just milling around and only making a couple of kids cry, I decided to wander from inside the school (where multiple stalls were set up and selling various things dresses, jewelry, etc.) to outside (where there was food, music, and a few attractions). Outside seemed like the better place to be so mostly walked around taking pictures there. Outside had a LEGO robotics tent with small rovers that the kids could pilot (many "not the droids you're looking for" jokes were made. Har har). Another tent had laptops with Minecraft loaded on them and a 3D printer making a flash hider if I recall correctly. There were a few food trucks, King of Pops was there (highly recommend), and many games stations. The local Boy Scouts, Fire Dept, and Police had tables set up. My favorite thing outside though was the book-mobile. They had an awning and we talked about books for quite a while before the event started. I also discussed Whatevercon with them and they expressed interest in having us there again. I look forward to it. I also talked with another person that would like up to attend a Police and Fire charity event in the near future. I instructed them on how to request us and gave them my contact info. All in all it was a fun little event.
Event Length (Hours): 3
Carolina Garrison Members in Attendance:
1. Taylor Seay TB-11701
2. Chris Gould TB-11110
Pictures:

After some time baking in the sun we went delirious and thought we were bowling pins.

Sorry this report took such a long time, work has been crazy...

(SC) Aug 22 WhateverCON (Summerville)
Scouting mission debriefing follows:
Members of the Carolina Garrison of the 501st Legion were tasked on a special scouting mission to observe youngling behavior and monitor for Jedi and Rebel sympathizers. One Scout trooper was dispatched with one Mandalorian mercenary to augment Imperial forces. The gathering appeared to be a mini-con with the goal of allowing the younglings the opportunity to show off and share their love of video games, anime, manga, comics, etc. Activities included karaoke, pictures with Imperial and Mandalorian forces (to show proper support for the Empire), and a virtual reality experience called a "Green Screen". Future scouting missions may find this technology useful. No Rebel or Jedi activity was observed; however one child did have unusually high angst levels. All in all, peace and security was insured by our presence and a good time was had by all. I recommend Imperial forces be dispatched to the next of these gatherings in greater numbers to show our continued support of the local populous.
Troopers Attending:
1. Taylor Seay (TB)
2. Chris Gould (Mandalorian)

End transmission.
