Location:
Bojancles Collesium
Charlotte, NC
Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can):
The Local NHL Hockey Affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers, hosted a Star Wars themed evening in recognition of the release of The Last Jedi in theaters over the weekend. Even though the Garrison was inundated with requests to appear all over both states, a few of our members, along with some folks from the Rebel Legion, were able to come join in the festivities and take pictures with the patrons.
Did this event support a charity? If yes, which charity?:
Yes - Make-A-Wish (indirectly via a portion of proceeds from ticket sales thru an available link on the Team's website)
Event Length (Hours):
2.5
Indirect Funds Raised (Total money raised by event):(delete this section if not applicable)
Checking... there was a link provided that if used for ticket purchases, a portion of the proceeds would be donated to our local Make A Wish offices. I am researching with our contact on what that final number donated was.

(NC) May 4th Taco Mac Dark side Vs Light side event (Chlt)
Date:
May 4, 2016
Location:
Taco Mac
South Charlotte, NC
Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can):
To finish off a LONG day of trooping on May the 4th, the Carolina Garrison invaded Taco Mac (Southpark Area) in Charlotte, to help promote a "Light Side/Dark Side" Beer event, and help raise a little money for the American Cancer Society.
The troops all arrived and suited up, and were an immediate hit with the patrons. We took pictures with folks inside and outside restaurant, as well as generated a small crowd of passers by from neighboring businesses and restaurants.
And afterwards, we were all treated to a nice cold brew of our choosing and sat in their "private lounge" to relax our weary souls/soles?!
Taco Mac continued to collect receipts for the remainder of the evening on our behalf for donation purposes.
Thank you to all who attended for being real "troopers" over this long day of trooping around Charlotte. It was a blast!
Did this event support a charity? If yes, which charity?:
Yes. Taco Mac raised funds for the American Cancer Society in our name
Event Length (Hours):
7pm-9pm (plus suit up and down time)
Direct Funds Raised? (Money raised directly by the Carolina Garrison):(delete this section if not applicable)
We received $23 cash in direct donations and a whopping $839 in receipt collections, for a total of $862 ! Receipt collections were submitted by Taco Mac Corporate directly to ACS as a check the next day. I will get with Garrison Command Staff for procedures on handling the remaining $23 cash collected.

(SC) April 24 -Pelicans Baseball SW Night (Myrtle Beach)
The Carolina Garrison invaded Myrtle Beach this past Friday for "Star Wars Night" at the Myrtle Beach Pelicans game. We event found a few pesky Jedi along the way, which we joined forces with temporarily, to entertain the crowd. We escorted folks out to the mound to have them throw out the first pitch, lined up with the team for the National Anthem, and then proceeded to mingle with the fans throughout the game, taking pictures and signing "autographs". It was a great time, and we had a fantastic turnout. Many thanks to those who were in attendance from the Carolina Garrison, the Rebel Legion, and our handlers/photographers:

Troopers Attending:
Jerry Sienkiewicz - ROTS Vader
Al de Lachica - Jedi (RL)
Chad Varn - Jedi (RL)
Cher Lambeth. - ANH Leia (RL)
Jason Boyd - Sandtrooper
Chris Gould - Biker Scout
Brad Lee - Tie Pilot
Greg French - Sandtrooper
Dave Carta - Tusken Raider
Brandy Carta - Jawa
Wranglers:
Jeff Miller - (TK approval pending)
Nick Dewsnap - Photographer (friend of Jason Boyd)
We also had the honor of presenting Nick Dewsnap, a retired veteran, with a "Thank You For Your Service" Challenge Coin while at the game.

Below you will find a few snaps of the "fun".
