Re: 327th Hopeful from Kernersville, NC

Yeah we have a good sized local group. We will be happy to have you help out at events. Also like I said we will be happy to help if you need any. Excited to have another clone in the group. Are you doing animated or realistic?

(SC) March 17 North Myrtle Beach St. Patrick's Parade

Date:

March 11, 2017

Location:

North Myrtle Beach, SC

Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can):

On March 17, 2018 members of the Carolina Garrison gathered in North Myrtle Beach for the 30th annual North Myrtle Beach St. Patrick's day parade. We set up base camp close to where the parade would end to ensure no extra walking after the parade. members total showed up for the 2.25 mile hike thru the parade route. After we all got dressed it was a brisk walk up to our starting area. We were in position number 90 out of 120 parade entries. The 30th annual Parade had a estimated crowd of 35,000 in attendance. The parade was also telecast on live TV in many different markets in addition to Myrtle beach, it was also telecast in Greensboro, Raleigh, Asheville, Columbia SC,Baltimore Maryland, Columbus Ohio, Cinncinnati Ohio, Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. The weather was perfect for us in costume as it was in the and the crowd was very receptive. Many of the crowd wanted pics and would come into the parade route to secure their picture with their favorite character. The interactive nature of the crowd made the parade a fun event. After the parade we headed back to base camp where we suited down and some of our group headed home due to the long drive to attend the parade. Many of the remaining members headed over to the festival part of the parade to eat, enjoy the festivities, and Hang out and enjoy fellowship. Please make plans for next year to attend if you get a chance. This is a great event, not only for the parade, but for the chance to meet and hang out with Garrison members from NC and SC that you wouldn't normally have a chance to troop with. It provides a great trooping element and also a great social element as well. All and all the parade was a great success.

(NC) Feb 11 Winston Salem Symphony Star Wars Concert

Date:

February 11, 2018

Location:

R. J. Reynolds Memorial Auditorium
301 N. Hawthorne Rd.
Winston-Salem, NC 27106 United States

Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can):

Date:

April 17

Location:

Winston-Salem, NC

Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can):
Every year the Winston Salem Symphony does a Discovery concert series for children and their families. This year one of the Concerts was the Star Wars Discovery Concert. This was the second Star Wars concert the Carolina Garrison has done with the Winston Salem Symphony. This concert featured the music of John Williams that we all know and love. A normal crowd for a discovery concert is around 500-600 however once word got out that the Carolina Garrison was going to be in attendance, this concert went to a sell out crowd of 1500 plus, making it once again one of their most successful Discovery concert ever. For the concert, We had a table display along with numerous banners set up around the venue. The symphony had the garrison come on stage for certain songs and interact with the crowds on others. We were honored to have Kal Edly (Darth Vader) present for his first ever troop? This was an awesome troop, we have a great working relationship with the Winston Salem Symphony and look forward to working with them again.
After the concert the Garrison headed over to Foothills brewery, where we had a private room, for some after troop dinner.

NCwerewolf wrote:Ok, thanks. I was thinking that perhaps it would be smart for me to attend some events as a civilian, perhaps with an offficial handler present, in order to observe the protocol and watch the troopers. Kinda like some field training and familiarization before jumping in and fumbling around like an idiot.

We love to have recruits out at events. Either to handle or observe. It helps you see what we do and how much fun we have, and makes you want to be part of the Garrisonfor sure

Re: New Scout In-Progress

There is a POC. Point of contact for each event. Once you are a full Garrison member you will have access to the events page. Here is where all sign ups and planning are done. If you have an event you are interested in attending let me know and I can put you in touch with the correct contact.

Hello and welcome. On the front page at the top you will see a event calendar tab. There you can see events we will attend. If it's on the calendar then we have members signed up to attend. Hope this helps.
