Date:
February 23, 2019
Location:
Western Blvd Presbyterian Church
4900 Kaplan Drive
Raleigh, North Carolina 27606
Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can):
This event celebrates the birthday of the Boy Scouts and it commemorates the advancement of the Cub Scouts who are ready to move to Boy Scouts (5th graders). The name of the event is the Blue and Gold and we figured what better than have a Star Wars theme and really focus on R2D2 and C3PO since they are ... blue and gold! The reception begins at 6pm. We'd love to have the characters waiting to escort the kids to the reception (down the hall from where the ceremony took place) or have the characters waiting in the reception area for when the kids arrive. The event itself is from 6pm to 7:30pm and we'd like is to have the characters available for photos in our photo booth. We have alot of girls in our Pack. If it is possible to have some of the strong female characters there we'd love it.
Event Length (Hours):
1.5 hrs (6-7:30pm)
Carolina Garrison Members in Attendance:
1. Ron Toland
2. Barbara Sacchitello

Indirect Funds Raised (Total money raised by event):(delete this section if not applicable)
Received a record 2.3 million in donations that will go directly to brain cancer research. Unlike many other organizations, Angels Among Us keeps administrative costs very low and ALL of the proceeds from this event went directly to brain tumor research.
UPDATE: 2 May 18: News from the event coordinators:
#1
The event raised a record 2.3 MILLION DOLLARS this year for brain cancer research at the Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke. It's people like you that make this event possible.
We had over 5,000 attendees and 316 teams at this event, our 25th annual Angels Among Us.
Because we have such an amazing group of volunteers, no paid staff, and many wonderful sponsors and vendors (many of which have been with us for many years) we have extremely low overhead for a charity of this type. We, on average, retain about 97% of what we bring in! The money we raise goes directly into research and trials.
Again, we were THRILLED to have you and your partner at this event. You guys were AWESOME.
#2
We received an enormous amount of positive comments about you and all of the cosplay characters that contributed their time... so thanks very
much again for coming out.
All proceeds go directly to brain cancer research. Administrative and event costs are kept to the very minimum to ensure that the maximum amount of
money goes to research. Donations are contributed in the form of team fundraising (this year over 300 teams), individual contributions,
corporate contributions and external fundraisers.
