(NC) May 4 Craft & Meet & Greet (Graham)

Date: 5/4/2018 - 4:30pm

Location:
Venue: Graham Public Library
Venue address: 211 S Main St
Graham, North Carolina 27253

Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can):
Graham Public library hosted a small Star Wars themed event with various arts and crafts, free giveaways, and a "meet and greet" with a stormtrooper! This was a solo troop for me. I took pictures with maybe 20 or 30 kiddos and then patrolled the library looking for two droids. I enjoyed it and will go back again next year if asked as Graham is very near my home in Mebane.

Date:
8/20/2016

Location:
Burlington Athletic Stadium
1450 Graham Street
Burlington, North Carolina

Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can):
With the same resolve that saw the Empire build a second Death Star after the destruction of the first, the Burlington Royals made a second attempt at a Star Wars-themed evening after the first one was rained out in July. Four of the five original attendees returned. Two stormtroopers, an officer, and a Tusken Raider greeted fans as they arrived and throughout most of the game. The 501st members were on the field escorting the two people that got to throw out the game's first pitches. They also provided security for the team's promotional crew as they tossed out free t-shirts to the fans. The crowd definitely warmed up to the Imperials as the temperature cooled off late in the evening. Great fun was had by all and we look forward to next year's game.

ID-45230, I was also sticking my tongue out. But you're on notice for letting a trooper look like a Lindsay Lohan-level mess. Look at that picture. My right shoulder bell is flying away and my left thigh piece is dropping like it's hot. Yikes. I'm a wreck. I hope I didn't look that bad all night. I need to clean up my act for the Greensboro roller derby.

(NC) July 15 Burlington Royals Star Wars Night (Burlington)

Date:
July 15, 2016

Location:
Burlington Athletic Stadium, Burlington NC

Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can):
The Burlington Royals, a minor league baseball team, attempted to have their first ever Star Wars night. Players were to wear specialty jerseys with Darth Vader on the front and Emperor Palpatine on the back. Jerseys were to be auctioned off for the Autism Society of North Carolina. The Carolina Garrison came out in force with three TKs, an officer, and a Tusken Raider. Unfortunately, about 30 to 45 minutes into the troop, before the first pitch, the skies opened up and a torrential downpour came and put a stop to everything. The game was eventually called off and there is a tentative plan to reschedule the Star Wars promotion.

Had a great time. I can't get over how nice Matt's Boba costume is. Some really excellent work there. Down to the "accidental" paint smudges. :bobafett:

Re: (NC) May 7 Durham Bulls Star Wars Night (Durham)

that was a lot of fun. I feel like I was a little quiet because I'm new but I look forward to next time I see all these great people. Thanks to everyone for making my first troop a great experience.
