The Carolina Garrison met up in raleigh for the annual christmas parade. Troopers all gathered and entertained all of the children on the sidelines. All in all it was a good 2 mile troop with colleagues.

The First ever Raleigh Super Con was huge. We had so many troopers for this. We had 4 tables of props, Blast A Trooper ,and Our first - 501st Art Contest. Jason Mews stopped by the booth to take pictures.

Great troop!

Just received word the total was $1145

From Kris at the Turtle Rescue....
I am happy to do that! I took a bunch. they're not professional grade, but im happy to share what i have.
Give me a few days because i need to resurrect an old laptop that has the card reader i need to get the photos off my camera. And this week and next are going to be a bit hectic.
But, as soon as i get them onto a computer, i will send them to you!

We cant thank you guys enough for coming, and for being in such great spirits considering the heat. Everyone is talking about the Star Wars people at the event. More people may have come to see you, than to learn about turtles --- but we're cool with that! We had over 100 people there when we expected 50-75, so we think it was a success. Apparently 2 of the presentations had a packed room full of audience - which is again AMAZING!!!
We are really so excited about this.

I will also let you know as soon as we get the donation / fundraising tallies in.

It was really great to meet you all, and please share our thanks with your team!

Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can):  We were invited to come out and troop The Turtle Rescue. They showed how they help the turtles out. They had a few stations set up. They had baby Turtle paintings. The kids made turtle hats. And they let the kids get hands on with a few turtles and tortoises. Everyone enjoyed seeing their favorite Star Wars characters. Everyone did a great job today and braved the heat. All the kids loved that we had a Tiny Vader. (Galactic Academy ) And for it being his first legit troop, I think he did awesome. He will be very valuable to the Garrison once he is of age. He was encouraging the kids to take pictures with us, he offered to let the hold his Lightsaber. And if they got a little spooked by us he went over and showed them that he was just a kid. The grown ups even enjoyed it. But everyone did awesome. And one of the best troops I have trooped in awhile.

Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can): 
The Wilson Tobs hosted a Superhero night. Despite the insane heat and humidity we had alot of fun. The rain even held out til the end of the game. Several kids and adults came dressed as their favorite superheros. We had a table set up and gave out candy, stickers, tempory tattoos, and Cadet Handbooks. We did 2 Raffles, The 50/50 raffle and A giant Star Wars Basket and all the money raised going to Make -A- Wish. And we raised $220.00. Afterwards we had a late dinner at Applebee's.

Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can):  The town of Chapel Hill holds a movie under the stars event every Thursday night. They played The Force Awakens and invited us to come out and have some fun. The kids loved it. They had face painting for the kids. The Jawa even taught a few kids to trade popcorn for items lol. It was a really great troop. Even with the heat we were dancing around.
