We will be meeting inside the Warehouse. Enter through the truck ramp entrance to the warehouse. Front Offices will be closed and
no one will answer the front door.

Starting at 2:00 pm

I don't mind at all, Unfortunately though, I am not sure if there is going to be a good turnout though. I wanted to host the party for selfish purposes and to obtain assistance from those more experienced, but I have not gotten a great deal of response.

I just wanted to give everyone here on the forums a heads up about a recent experience with an Armor Maker. Walt's Trooper Factory (nice). I was browsing his Facebook page and saw an auction for some Youth Shadow Trooper Armor. I jumped in and began bidding. I was the winning bidder at $380.00. Afterwards I was corresponding with him about how to get the Armor paid for and he reminded me it was for a Charity of my choice. So I clarified what charity would be acceptable. I asked if I could donate it to my local church for a Youth Mission Trip. He said, "It was my choice". All I have to say is, "WOW". This guy has a class act operation. I only had to pay for the shipping directly to him. He is Johnny on the spot with answers to questions. He has Facebook live feeds several times a week while he is pulling armor and he answers questions while he is live. He just seems to be a really classy guy and runs a Classy operation. He is one of the only guys out there making quality Armor for kids too.

I just wanted to relay this information to all of you out there.

From what I understand from other forums, once you start a TK you will never be happy with how it fits and it is a labor of Love. I welcome any and all. I just request you bring some experience and some pictures of your previous builds. I need all the help I can get.

I plan to host a Build Party on August 13, 2:00 pm at 3601 Woodpark Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28206. It is in a Business Park right off of Graham Street which is easily accessed via I-85. I will have two Fabrication tables open and more if needed. We have Belt Sanders, Chop Saws, a Wealth of Air Tools, and lots more. However, Please be aware, the shop is not air conditioned. We have tons of fans which can be relocated to our construction area. So please hydrate at least a couple of days prior to the event.

Please make everyone aware who you know might be interested in attending and please bring photo references of previous builds as I am a beginner and wish to learn as much as I can.

All I ask is you please bring any and all tools you think might assist others in assembly of their New Armor and or Armor which needs to be reworked.

If you have a photo diary or videos previous builds, I would find it very helpful if you could possibly bring it along.

Alcoholic beverages are welcome in moderation...

We can also order some Sub Sandwiches from Jimmy Johns or Pizza or something else if everybody can weigh in on the personal preferences.

Indeed I have ordered my armor. I ordered the Shadow Trooper (Blackhole Trooper) from Walt's Trooper Factory as he produces armor for Children as well. I would not be doing this if it wasn't for my 8 year old son "Austin". I thought I would attempt to build my armor and work out all of the sizing problems on my own armor before attempting to work out the sizing issues on his. I foresee bigger issues with sizing with the children's armor. Perhaps I am wrong. I have been attempting to obtain as much information on proper measurements and criteria for the ideal way to construct the best armor, but as you said, it has been overwhelming to say the least.

I would love to see if there is any interest in a build party, but it appears as if no one is really interested in attending a build party hosted by a NEWBE...

Oh Well, I thought I would give it a shot.

I have just ordered my FIRST set of armor and I chose the Shadow Trooper from Walt's Trooper Factory as he makes Armor for children as well. I was not into dressing up until my 8 year old son showed an interest in dressing up like superheroes and such. I made him a Deadpool costume which turned out really nice, so I made the two of us Sith costumes for the release of The Force Awakens. We recently attended the Hero Con in Charlotte and The Con held in Concord and he got all kinds of attention with his Deadpool Costume. He felt like a celebrity. I also felt really good about the quality of his costume as people wanted pictures Galore...

I have always been a huge fan of the Star Wars movies and really started researching the 501st and I was impressed with everything I've read they do and participate in. Having said all this, it inspired me to start a build for the two of us. However, while reading through the Hundreds, if not Thousands of posts about how to properly build a trooper costume, I have become overwhelmed with the ins and outs of the rights and wrongs of Trooper building. So I have decided to reach out to my local Garrison to ask for some help. I am not a person who easily comprehends things well after reading instructions. Quite the opposite... I am a visual learner and I have watched so many Youtube tutorials my mind is still doing circles. So, I have decided to see if there is any interest out there for people to come to a build party that I would like to host at the business which I am employed with.

I work for a company in Charlotte called Boxman Studios. We up fit Shipping containers into mobile showrooms for various Fortune 500 companies around the world. We are currently producing 12 containers which will be featured at the Republican National Convention for Facebook. It has been a daunting project to say the least. We have a plethora of fabrication tools and I have a wealth of personal fabrication tools as well. Though, I felt people I have never met would probably feel more comfortable in a public forum rather than a personal home. I also don't have access to the tools which would make building Trooper Armor available to me at my home. So, I thought I would reach out and see if anyone might be interested in attending and bring examples of their current builds, pictures of previous builds, and or previous builds which need to be retooled for current requirements and upgrades.

This is a very preliminary request as I have not even asked permission to host such an event, but the owner is very understanding of personal interests and welcomes personal family into the warehouse for family events. So I don't see why he wouldn't allow something like this.

If you’re interested in attending, please let me know when would be the best possible date for you and I will attempt to accommodate all requests. If this event is successful, perhaps this can be a quarterly thing for those wishing to build new sets of Armor. I promise you, you will impressed with the sheer amount of tools we have access to and can use.
