Hey guys. I just wanted to share my experience building a suit.

I went in with a friend to build a suit for DragonCon. I'm assuming they are not 501st acceptable. The armor came from TK Armour. (I can tell you it is not a good dealer) Upon research I learned a lot more about the different armor types and the process.

The best thing I learned... You can screw up. I had cutting paralysis until I screwed up royally by cutting sizing the thigh be twice and cutting way more than I should have. I fixed it and the details I thought were terrible, no one noticed. Im missing one of the helmet stripes and had to cut the one in half. My helmet has fewer stripes on it but no one can tell unless they look with intent.

I'm in this now. I'm ordering a new set with intent on joining as I already have the accessories. But now Im comfortable working with the armor and now I have some "drunk" armor to play around in.

I'll post some more pictures when I get home so you guys can see it up close.

Im no engineer but I had the help of the engineers at work. We work with similar materials and concepts at work. It's fascinating stuff. We need to meet up sometime.

Hello from James Island!

I just started building my own armor(TK). I built the vacuum table and made casts of the helmet pieces. Finishing up the "oven" tonight.

I was curious as to what you used to cut the "teeth" from the mask. It looks pretty smooth.

Also, I would love to meet up with some troopers in the area and get a closer look at some armor.
