The local citizens immediately showed their loyalty to the Empire by requesting that Lord Vader drop the puck to signal the start of the game. Vader also took it upon himself to demonstrate the true nature of the Force by choking several of the hockey team mascots, but only after he had found their lack of faith disturbing. While the Imperials spread throughout the arena to intimidate and arrest those who appeared to be even the slightest bit uncooperative, the Rebels were being their usual happy selves. They just kept going on about restoring peace and happiness to the galaxy, blah, blah, blah. The Mercs just stood by watching the Imperials and Rebels go about their bickering, and only cared about the potential opportunity to blast someone or to blow something up. Their itchy fingers were on the triggers all night long. Anyway, the tension between Imperials and Rebels eventually reached a boiling point when Vader (pre-armor) and Obi-Wan squared off in front of the home crowd. While no one was destroyed, Vader got the last laugh after kicking Obi-Wan square in his rebel scum scrotum and running from the scene.
Everyone managed to get along for the rest of the evening, and collectively, we raised $264.71 for the MAW of Eastern North Carolina after a signed team jersey raffle. The winner of the raffle turned out to be a special needs person who was granted a wish from MAW about three years ago and managed to survive his condition.
