It's May 4th at The Sparrow, a really cool music venue where the owners (one celebrating her 30th bday that night) love Star Wars. That's at 1078 East Montague Ave. North Charleston, SC. Cover charge is $5 or $3 in costume (to pay the 3 bands). I'm trying to turn the three columns in the middle of the bar into trees supporting an Ewok village. I'll have my 12 foot section of Death Star walls set up and a photographer. We'll do a costume contest, probably excluding 501st approved costumes to encourage more creativity. Last year we gave "most accurate" to a Royal Guard who'd never even considered joining the 501st.
I know the 501st code of conduct doesn't let you get too rowdy in costume, so feel free to bring your non-501st outfits to show off, or change costumes. I've arranged to have the staff restroom used by pre-approved costumers. I'll have some couches free at my place if you're coming from out of town and need a place to stay, but I'll be one of the last ones to leave the bar that night.
