Greetings everyone, my name is Andy Perry. Back in 2010 i joined up on the forums and began my journey to becoming NC garrisons Emperor Palpatine. At the time however i was only 19 and everything got put on the back burner as i started a life for myself. Recently i heard on the Radio about the NC symphonies Scifi Spectacular and saw that the 501st would be there. Having never met any members in person before my girlfriend and I bought tickets and ended up having a blast that night, and it rekindled my urge to join the ranks of the 501st, and seeing that there still hasn't been a palpatine in this garrison yet i hope to fill that void. My girlfriend Amber has also sparked interest in possibly putting together an Imperial Royal Guard suit so that we can troop together. I will make this thread my official build thread as i assemble everything over the next few months. I look forward to being among you guys and i welcome any critiques and opinions.
First up will be the prosthetic. Im going for the ROTJ Palpatine. Here is the sculpt ive been working on for the past 3 days. Still working on the chin, but im applying the finishing touches everywhere else.
Wow!! I must say that is hideously amazing!! That is some amazing detail!! I to am working on joining the ranks. In the middle of building my stormtrooper! Good luck! Can't wait to see it all!

Thank you for the kind words, good luck to your build as well, and hopefully we will see each other on the battlefield soon
Here is the brooch i'll be using. I sculpted this back in 2010 before you could easily buy a recasted master replica's version. Thought about getting the MR version, but im still fond of mine. Casted out of black resin, with a clear epoxy resin coating.
I'm one of the Royal Guards in the garrison and for the rebels...let's jst say a certain young Skywalker. I can't wait to troop with you either way as Skywalker or a guard keeping my close eye on my employer!!!
Welcome to the family!!

The 501st: it's not an attitude we really are the best at what we do.
Do not fear... I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)
Nearing completion on the sculpt. Extended the forehead a bit more to make sure my hair won't be seen from under the hood and slightly altered the outside edges of the head ridges based off a behind the scenes pic i found.
Nice work all around...looking forward to seeing this finished...I am also doing a ROTJ Emperor so it will great having a few in the group..keep up the impressive, most impressive work.
Alright big update. Pretty much tore apart and redid most of the sclupt after finding some nice behind the scenes pictures of Ian's hood down in ROTJ. Streamlined the majority of the sculpt and changed the texture pattern to match some of the pictures. Still in the process of adding the texturing to the forhead and most of the right side but wanted to go ahead and post up the progress.
Thank you very much for the kind words, i too look forward to trooping along side my fellow troops soon. finished sculpt pictures are coming up shortly.
Alright im calling this one completed (unless you guys feel there needs to be anymore alterations lol)
In the end i drifted away from making this a bust like sculpture and breaking it down more into its prosthetic form. For the most part i got rid of the nose minus a top strip to give me Ian's defined bridge. My nose is much longer and wider than the cfx face im working on and adding anymore to it would just look off. Doing that along with removing the top lip sculpt will allow my natural facial lines to show through when i grimace, smile, etc. as seen in this pic lol
first few pics are heavy contrast to show the texturing and lines with about 3 natural lighting pic at the end.
