2nd Annual Carolina Children's Charity Snow Day II

Post by silverBoyd »

Carolina Children's Charity of Charleston has invited us (once again) to the Carolina Children's Charity - Snow Day II. Carolina Children's Charity awards financial grants to local children with birth defects and/or childhood diseases from birth to the age of 18. Don't have the crowd #'s but it was crawling with people. Last year I think they had around 4,000 people attend. We couldn't take 5 steps without getting swarmed for pictures. But that's why we do this. Love bringing smiles to the children and adults.

This is a family-friendly event featuring: 50 tons of snow w/ 3 snowy play areas, jump castles, Mt Pleasant Fire Dept trucks and smokehouse, silent auction, live music from local bands, 3rd Annual Cornhole Tournament, food, beverages and of course, the Carolina Garrison. This was an extremely cold event. The wind was blowing around the entire time but we prevailed. Temperatures were in the high 30s upon arrival but warmed up to the low 50s. Didn't feel too warm with the wind chill though. It was cutting right through the armor.

We were also given a great dressing room on the 2nd story of a restaurant (that I actually helped design) that had a gorgeous view of Charleston Harbor. We were also supplied with a case of water which helped wet our whistle.
