A few of us arrived around 8:45-9:00am to setup the great corner spot we were given. Chris Gould spent the past few weeks building a set of Death Star backdrop walls and they looked great. We also put together a great corner table displaying a few helmets, blaster props, brochures, banner and a had a few small giveaways to the kids like: 501st Legion temporary tattoos as well as a few Imperial Training Manuals. We had a really cool spot that was right in the middle of the flow of foot traffic. There were times we had dozens of attendees snapping photos. Felt like we were on the red carpet. Captain's Comics hired a professional photographer and she took photos of us all day long with guests. The photos were FREE but we also had a box on the table for those that wanted to donate $ to Make-A-Wish @ MUSC Children's Hospital. I'm proud to say the final tally we raised was an even $200. Very exciting. This event was also the first time I debuted my recently approved (ANH) Tusken Raider. Had a blast wearing it after suiting up in my TD for awhile.
Thank you very much to the troopers that attended and came in from out-of-town, as well as the (2) guests that joined us all day long. Friend of the Garrison, Edward Reed and his trusty R2D2 and Brad Butler (which I met for the first time), appeared as his Luke Skywalker X-Wing Pilot for the Rebel Legion. Brad Butler had just been approved for Rebel Legion and this was his first troop.
