At it's core, this event is about the "run." It's a kids foot race around the park, as a companion to the Charleston Bridge Run (tomorrow morning). The race happens at the end of the day, so the rain made that impossible. It was still a good three and a half hours of kids running around, many vendor tents, petting zoo, rock climbing wall, free-play with quirky toys, science demonstrations from the Children's Museum and live music. The crowd wasn't as big as previous years, but there were enough kids there that I decided after an hour that I needed to hide my lightsabers and blasters (hasbro repaints). The kids were just running around like crazy playing with them and without another set of eyes on them, I was afraid they'd disappear. I took pictures with a few people, but there was more just "what's this about?" and "can I hold that gun?" I think it's because there wasn't a handler taking pictures, so they didn't realize that's what I was there for.
Did I need a bucket off pic when I was the only one there?

Some other costumers who recognized me from Atomacon:

And here's what happens when you let a TB set up the table by himself:

The event organizer was really excited to see me, and wanted me to remind everyone of their November festival (which I believe is the same weekend as Atomacon, but we'll try to hit both), which is sponsored by the town of Mt Pleasant and is mostly Star Wars themed. I believe she's already submitted an event request.
