you only need the one how I do it is a lie a visor the wraps the inside from one ear to the other and use the ear screw to hold in place ... the you do not have to worry about gluing and the other cool thing it there very very small space between the eye opening and the green visor for venting so you lens do not fog up.

See how I did this to this TK lid. the blue arrows are to show how where the visor is bolted on with the ear screws...:

the Jackson safety visor is ea. the Material is flexible and can be cut with a very good sharp pair of utility scissors (home Depot/Lowes) and also I have used the hobby curved scissors (RC/Model shops) little bit harder than utility scissors but I have used them for it...plus the hobby curved scissors you can use on you ABS armor for those hard to get to areas....

With you being on active duty you more tan likely can get them very very cheap and ez.

Why the baseball helmet? I got them dirt cheap on sale for $4 each (no brainer)

I heat the helmet outside with a heat gun so the glue is softer or use a real hair dryer on the inside.

I use a metal putty knife to help remove the padding and then I trim off the section that would cover/wrap around you ears (not needed) the way I add the padding it is like wraps around your head as a hat/cap would.

I used industrial strength velcro to hold the baseball pads into place . This way if i need to I can adjust the pads easily and not have to worry about gluing etc...

Note with the stormtrooper helmet you have to turn it sideways to get it on you head the turn/twist it on ...so make she you padding it not too much or too hard. (not fun then)

Unfortunately I went to a few military surplus stores looking for the helmet pads but they are over priced. They know military needs them so they price them a lot $20-$35 (used)

Amazon/ebay has them for $15

I am trying to get the paints for the helmet but I was wondering, is there any stencils for the outlines? Thank you. Is it necessary to get a painting template?

the only place i have seen for the stencils is trooperbay ... Mike I have an issue with how he has done his best friends and recast the friends stormtrooper armor to make a buck ..I do not condone buying for Mike for Armor (Just FYI) but you can look at his Decals and stencils (some of the best)

the rest is over priced or a recast of someone else's product. if you are going to need add on (which you will) I can get you to the best for less)

for doing the traps, tears, ears best to do the the black first then once dry then do the gray Easier to do it that way the gray and try to add the thin black outline...:

The paint, Ill check Micheals for it. Hobby Lobby had the test or brand but it was emptied. AC Moore only had a small selection and Joanns didn't have it in the store. Thanks for the tip on how to do the outline.

I've been on the white armor forums reading up on the AP builds that people posted.

I am trying to understand some of the assembly process. I remember seeing a method used was some sort of fabric and bracket and then the snap on.

I also seen screws being used for the lens, how does that work without going through.

I also tried looking for earth magnets, I am assuming they are sold in craft stores.. I'll have to double check, I am not sure what isle they would be. Do you know if they are sold at Lowes or Home Depot? I still need to make a trip for the scissors.

N52 is the best on the market....



I do the plastic snap plates but the nylon cloth with line 20 snaps work well to (it is all how you wnat it) plus if you have extra plastic for making the snap plates....


For the lens (holding it in) the ear screws that come throgh that how the ears on protrude to the inside and you just mark where the len wraps/overlaps to the ears and mark the placement to the screws onto the lens drill the marks and match them back us and add washers and nuts...

Basically you are using the screws that are already holding the ears on to also hold the lens on the inside as well.

I went ahead and placed an order for some magnets. I also had a question about the thermal detonator. I want to get expert/centurion on this build so are there any modifications I need to do for the TD. With the snaps method, is there a certain way to do to be qualified for the expert/centurion?

Snap method is not an issue on expert/centurion...

it is what is on the outside that counts...

Thermal Detonator is just make should its in the 7.5 inchs long. and panel is upright and you have the proper metal clips like this : viewtopic.php?f=17&t=6842
