Wow that didn't seem intimidating at all. I am sure it will be different with plastic, how do you reccomends making the hole. I've researched a few methods and saw a drill and saw a hole puncher.

For Snap plates I just cut the basic snap plate out... draw a line for one corn to the other (which makes an X) and there is the middle/center and you drill the hole.

then set the snap in...



then round the corners (so not to have something that you undersuit may snag on)




If you do the nylon cloth version snap plate then just use a hole punch and then set the snap in...

I would look at a Dremel and the curved hobby scissor (both are very needed tools)

I will look into a Dremel tool also. I was meaning to look for the scissors also.

I get rare earth magnets at Home Depot or Lowes. Not all locations have em, but they're labeled "super strong" and they're usually near screws/bolts, in the section with velcro and picture hanging wire. They're pretty cheap, $4 for 6 half inch ones, I believe.

Looking to pick up the Dremel and Scissors this week. Any specific type of Dremel or are they all powerful enough to use on ABS?

All the dremels are able to cut and sand ABS...


The major differences in the Dremels are the speed settings and the attachment add ons that you get.

Do not look into the cordless. The battery does not sustain long.

The Dremel 4000 is the best around with an extremely good range of variable speeds

The Dremel 200 is only on and off (not something that I am a true fan of)
The Dremel 3000 is on/off hi/lo.

I personally would step up to the 4000 model. Walmart has pretty decent bundles like this:

My "Chicago Electric rotary tool" from Harbor Freight for $26 has lasted longer than the 2 Dremel tools I burned out, which were $60-$70 each. All the Dremel bits fit in it.
