I don't have any tools besides screwdriver a cheap rivet gun and glue but I can host in Columvia given enough notice so as not to bother my roommates.

different grits.

Thanks, I picked up some sandpaper and exacto blades just yesterday and I can't use a dremel apparently I tore up some tk cover strips because my hand wasn't steady enough

Dremels are very useful (do not give up on it) , I would say practice with it and material that does not matter so you get use to it.Clockworkronin wrote:Thanks, I picked up some sandpaper and exacto blades just yesterday and I can't use a dremel apparently I tore up some tk cover strips because my hand wasn't steady enough
For cutting cover strips I just use the box cutting and straight edge the sand paper to smooth the edges,

Re: Armor build help in Columbia, SC
The Chicago Electric brand rotary tool at Harbor Freight fits all Dremel attachments and is only $26. Mine is starting to give me trouble after using it for 3 years, but still works. I haven't had a Dremel ($60-$75) last longer than 18 months.
I am a little shaky as well, but just clamp down the pieces you're working on and go slowly. Like Tom said: Practice, practice, practice.

Whichever dremel or rotary tool you buy, get the upgraded one that has the variable speed
no just on off or on, hi, low, off....

Yeah, the Dremel 3000 or the Chicago Electric variable speed. Do not buy the battery powered ones. They're worthless.

Yeah, set the speed too high and you'll melt plastic and the dremel might try to run away from you. I have the Chicago Electric one and set it on 2-3 out of 6 speeds for plastic.
