My Imperial Shock Trooper Build

Post by Barcuda16 »

Hi there! This is my first forum and build for the 501st. I'm currently constructing an Imperial Shock Trooper from the Battlefront video game, and once this is complete I'll become a member of the 501st.

Here is a picture:

I'll be creating numerous accessories along with the Trooper Build, such as the E-11 and DLT-19
Wish me luck on this adventure!

I've begun construction on an SE-14R Blaster Pistol because I thought it would be a great way to get my feet wet and start the project.

This is the original SE-14R from ANH

Here's my progress so far. I carved some wood with a jigsaw to get the body of the pistol. The white piece is simply some PVC Pipe and I bought a cheap airsoft scope at Walmart for like $6. I also covered the wood in Mod Podge to keep the wood from being damaged, and I also sanded the wood before coating it. I still need lots of pieces and planning before I can put the SE-14R together.

Another weapon I wanted to start on was the E-11 Blaster. I went on Amazon and got the Hasbro model for around $25. I'm not sure where I'm going with it yet, but I love how it feels and how it looks.

I went ahead and also got my reference figure for my Shock Trooper. I plan on purchasing the Anovos kit and heavily modifying it for my needs and 501st requirement. I love this figure and can't wait to look like it! I'm going to eventually add many more mods to it like a sand trooper backpack and weathering, but that's not anytime soon.

Welcome. I look forward to seeing your build process on the Shocktrooper. God luck with it. Where are you at with it? Have you purchased any pieces of armor yet? Make sure to sign up on the FISD (First Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment) http://www.whitearmor.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

There you will find everything you'll want to know about Stormtrooper (TK) armor building / purchasing / weapons / etc...

I see you started building a SE-14R blaster? That's cool. I too have built a few blasters beginning with wood and a jigsaw (DLT-19 and T-21). I don't think I've ever seen anyone do the SE-14R blaster before. I'll be interested to see how yours turns out.

Welcome Ethan! I am in Raleigh. There are a few troopers in the Raleigh/Durham/Cary area. Looks like you picked up the Disney E-11. It is a little undersized, but still a good base to work with. There are a few threads on the FISD where folks are modifying the same blaster...

Thanks for the links! I do have a question though.

This here is the original E-11 featured in the movies and such. It has the Hengstler Counter, a long clip, and a large scope.
Image

Since my character I'm making is from the Battlefront game, I was wondering if I should instead make the Battlefront version of the E-11.

Here's the Battlefront E-11. It doesn't have a Hengstler Counter, the scope and ammo magazine are much smaller, and it has 2 large metal rivets on the end of the weapon. The barrel also has very different grooves sticking out, and it also has a small clip hanging from the left side of the barrel.
Image

Anyone have any ideas on how I should proceed? I thought that maybe the Battlefront E-11 would fit the costume better, but you guys are the experts! Help me out?
