A Monday morning troop? A troop in TN…? YES!!
This troop was announced a few months back, and when the teacher at the school (who is submitting his TK now) reached out to us I told him a Monday troop might be hard. The more I spoke to him, and learned about the event I really wanted to make it out. Anthony and I made it to the school by 8am for a quick change and get ready for a gym full of kids ready for Star Wars. The students were aware of the Star wars themed field day but had no clue there were going to be people in costume.
We were introduced to Phil the teacher at the school who set-up the SW day and his friend who had a massive Chewie costume, we also met JJ, a R2 builder who used to work at Lucasfilm who had an amazing R2 unit. When we came out from behind the stage after a into from the principal it was a deafing roar!! The kids were so happy to see us.. After a short meet and great the kids were taken outside for the field day, and then class by class they were brought back in for a class photo with us. This was a amazing troop with so many kids that were so excited to see us, some crying with joy. Who would have thought a Monday morning troop would have been so great for the kids, teachers, and ourselves. We can't wait to troop with Phil and JJ again!
