Greetings. Thinking about trooping, advice needed

Post by fxdl2002 »

Hi,
I am thinking about trying to troop. I have a few questions.
Is an efx any helmet acceptable?
Do you have an armor you suggest ( deluxe rubies etc) or a list of where to begin/get started? Essentially eBay... You can spend a lot and get something that's not even OK on a level 1.
The e-11. I make leather, so the holster is easy, but I can't afford master replicas. Is an altered kenners a good place to start or what do you suggest?

Thanks for your help!

It sounds like you're interested in building a Stormtrooper? If you haven't already, go sign up at http://www.whitearmor.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, you'll find an overwhelming amount of information. My three bits of advice is:

1. Stay away from eBay.
2. Research, research, research.
3. Ask lots of questions.

Good luck and welcome to the Carolina Garrison!

Where in the Carolinas are you?

Stay away from the EFX armor. ANOVOS is a great way of getting a good affordable set of armor. After that you may want to research ATA armor. As Anthony stated, sign up on whitearmor.net and research your heart out. So much information is on that site.

Doopydoos makes a great full resin kit (which is currently out of stock) http://www.doopydoos.com/stormtrooper-e ... 2685-p.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

But they also make a Hasbro conversion kit that is nice too

Also, check this out for some further important info

Thanks! Grabbed the doopydos kit and ordered a 1996 Hasbro to start. As soon as a big payment comes in I will order the big brown box from anovos.
Get ready for lots of questions;)

Awesome, best way to do it is jump in feet first. Dry off later...

So yes Anovos is looking to be a decent vendor except wait times. Most vendors will have a wait, some less than others. But check around. White Armor is the place to go for everything TK . So there you can find a list of approved vendors and others for different components.

And of course, let us know if you have any questions.

I have used nice Walts Trooper Factory on occasion and there stuff is good quality. You can find them on Facebook. Typical turnaround time I s 4 to 6 weeks for a full kit.

Walt is cool, I have dealt with him personally , even bought his old thermoformer and am working to make TK molds, but I am about a year out on that, and now I can only make the Tie Pilot kits and regular TK helmets .

ATA is a decent vendor with nice armor. 6 month wait last times I checked.

RS PropMasters in England, beautiful armor. 6 month wait

TrooperMaster in England , 6 months I believe , maybe less.

Cap West, Scootch on the west coast, styrene armor bot affordable and has liniage.

MTK in California, usually about 6 to 8 weeks...

That's just off the top of my head.

Look em up buddy.
