Build Party

Hello All,

I plan to host a Build Party on August 13, 2:00 pm at 3601 Woodpark Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28206. It is in a Business Park right off of Graham Street which is easily accessed via I-85. I will have two Fabrication tables open and more if needed. We have Belt Sanders, Chop Saws, a Wealth of Air Tools, and lots more. However, Please be aware, the shop is not air conditioned. We have tons of fans which can be relocated to our construction area. So please hydrate at least a couple of days prior to the event.

Please make everyone aware who you know might be interested in attending and please bring photo references of previous builds as I am a beginner and wish to learn as much as I can.

All I ask is you please bring any and all tools you think might assist others in assembly of their New Armor and or Armor which needs to be reworked.

If you have a photo diary or videos previous builds, I would find it very helpful if you could possibly bring it along.

Alcoholic beverages are welcome in moderation...

We can also order some Sub Sandwiches from Jimmy Johns or Pizza or something else if everybody can weigh in on the personal preferences.

Please let me know if you plan on attending so I can prepare enough work space for everyone.

I'd be interested in attending, depending on work. I'm located in Pinehurst so it's not too bad of a drive. I'm reworking a TD

and need help with the legs (specifically replacing the ABS cover strips on the back of the thighs, and repairing the Calf velcro), and more importantly, I need help sizing and fitting this properly so I can hopefully get CRL approved sooner rather than later.

From what I understand from other forums, once you start a TK you will never be happy with how it fits and it is a labor of Love. I welcome any and all. I just request you bring some experience and some pictures of your previous builds. I need all the help I can get.

Just an update for any interested in attending. Still on for August 13st.

Let me know if your interested in attending. I can prepare adequate table space and drinks. It is a hot shop, so please plan on being hydrated. I have fans available...

I got tagged for a superhero 5k here in Greenville on the same day. While I would love to be at the build party my Wolverine was requested to be in attendance. duck if I was only cloned...

I don't mind at all, Unfortunately though, I am not sure if there is going to be a good turnout though. I wanted to host the party for selfish purposes and to obtain assistance from those more experienced, but I have not gotten a great deal of response.

For those wishing to attend the build party,

The event will be held at Boxman Studios
3601 Woodpark Blvd
Charlotte, NC 28206

We will be meeting inside the Warehouse. Enter through the truck ramp entrance to the warehouse. Front Offices will be closed and
no one will answer the front door.

Starting at 2:00 pm
Bring Water Bottle, tools, armor, pictures, experience, or a desire to acquire experience.

Labor Day weekend is coming up, I know I'll have that Friday to Monday off, I'd be willing to host at my house and is a central point between Charlotte and Raleigh here in Pinehurst if that makes travel easy for guys coming to help out. I won't have a shop quite like you've got, but i've got tools needed for armor construction, and a garage with folding tables.

If you plan on trying again in Sep, I should have more free time on the weekends and would be willing to travel to the shop if you host another as well.

I'm not going to DragonCon this year so I wouldn't mind giving it a try. Need to get the helmet finished anyways.
