The Town of Mount Pleasant has a summertime "Movies In The Park" series that takes place June - August on each Friday evening. During this event, they have local food trucks, local musicians, etc. for families to enjoy before the movies begin at 8:00pm. The setting is so perfect for this event. A beautiful new park nestled underneath Charleston's picturesque Ravenel Bridge with the smells and breezes of the Charleston Harbor. This spot is magnificent for viewing one of Charleston's best features - our sunsets.
The final night of this "Movies In The Park" series was non other than Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This was the first time anywhere locally has shown this movie to the public in an outdoors setting. It was a great time with a very enthusiastic crowd of at least 1,000 people. The lawn in front of the giant inflatable movie screen was flooded with folding chairs and blankets. We were given a very nice dressing area just off of the lawn in a bridal suite. As we appeared in full armor, it felt like a scene from Disney World. We were instantly swarmed by attendees anxiously wanting pictures. At multiple times, lines would form that were easily 50+ people. I've never seen so many smiles on people as I did this evening. Both in kids and adults. It's really a great feeling to see the joy on their faces as their take pictures and interact with us. While we walked around doing our thing, a local orchestra was playing movie themes from Star Wars, Back To The Future, Jurassic Park and more to entertain the crowd before the film. We mingled with the crowd and took photos for about 2 hours. As the sun set, and the evening rolled in, we changed into our street clothes and joined the crowd on the lawn as The Force Awakens began playing. It was a great evening.

After posing for so many shots and getting down low for the little kids to get pictures with me...my chest armor started to rise up on me the last few minutes we were out in public. I hate when it does that
