Location:
Park West Recreation Complex
Mount Pleasant, South Carolina
Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can):
This was the 29th Annual Town of Mount Pleasant Children's Day Festival. The event was very large and is the most popular event put on by the Town every year.
Over 5,000 people attended this event.
East Cooper schools hosted carnival games and families enjoyed carnival rides, enormous inflatable slides, live entertainment, wall climbing, face painting and many other activities! Admission and all activities were free. Free parking is available at Cario Middle School and Charles Pinckney/Laurel Hill - shuttles run all day or simply use the cut-through and enjoy a nice short walk! Food concessions are offered by East Cooper schools for fundraising.
We set up 2 tents in the Thrill Zone. Rusty brought the main 501st tent with Death Start Backdrop, table, table covers, etc.. Chris Gould brought the big carbonite Stormtrooper and everyone else brought miscellaneous items. Event went well. it became hot and we did start to wear out towards the end. Next year we will probably have shifts.
Took alot of pictures and the action was non-stop for 5 hours.
Next year, we will push hard for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. I already have some ideas on this.
Did this event support a charity? If yes, which charity?:
The entire event was a fundraiser for East Cooper Hospital. We put out the Make-A-Wish donation box.
