Description of Event:
PRAI - walk for a cure.
PRAI stands for PANS Research and Awareness Initiative. Neuro immune encephalitis is an illness that occurs when a child experiences swelling of the brain and develops psychchiatric symptoms such as OCD, anorexia, extreme separation anxiety after an infectious illness such as strep, mycoplasm or Lyme. The National Institutes of Health now suggest this condition impacts 1/200 children. Early treatment with antibiotics can lead to a full recovery. This illness is not well publicized and often not diagnosed. This group was walking to build awareness and to kick off the development of PRAI SC.
-We arrived on scene, set up our table and banner and took pictures with fans and servel galactic citizens. We received free shirts,drinks and food. We were also well received and had a blast.
