Dragon Con?
I have heard we go to Dragon Con in Atlanta GA in august. I was wondering what we usually do there. I was looking into going to the con and I would love to attend with the 501st if we are going this year. If anyone has any details or get any this summer. Please let me know. Thanks!

Re: Dragon Con?
There was a small 501st booth this year and a cool parade. But the reality is it's one huge block party so prepare your liver.timpanilopp wrote:I have heard we go to Dragon Con in Atlanta GA in august. I was wondering what we usually do there. Re: Dragon Con?
Sounds awesome. Do members usually buy tickets to some events? or is it like at the other cons where us and our handlers tend to get in for free-ish? Also is it all 3-4 days of the con or do we feature just 1 day. Lol sorry for all of the questions, i know its early and I'm in no rush, I'm just trying to see how much ill have to budget to save for this trip in advance.

we go every year! (since 2008) dragon con is just amazing but yes a block party and a liver strength exercise
. i think they are starting to organize 501st events on the main legion page, there was a thread up already about it. bring most of your own alcohol and snacks and you can save a good bit of money and time in a line.

Re: Dragon Con?
DragonCon isn't really like other cons. We're treated more or less like everyone else. We have to pay the same for hotels and tickets. We don't really "feature". We're just like all the other nerds in costume. This means we have more freedom to do what we want (crazy crossover costumes, drinking, different costumes, drinking, did I mention drinking?) but we don't have all the perks we get from smaller or more family friendly cons.timpanilopp wrote:Sounds awesome. Re: Dragon Con?
get on the 501st forum and sign up to do table duty. 2 people at a time in 2 hour blocks all weekend.
I always bring a fan to plug in and leave at the 501st table all weekend to help cool down costumers (and so I know I can cool down). When you're at the table, make sure that's plugged in for me!
