Old school member returning

I joined the 501st back when there was only a website hosted on Geocities.com. Detention Block. I entered into the group with Stormtrooper armor and was active until 2005 when I sold my armor to help fund the cost of getting married. I started out alone in Western Pennsylvania, and then was a part of the 501st Eastern Squad, that then became Garrison Carida. I even made Trooper of the month back in 2002. For a short time I was part of the New England Garrison and when I sold my armor and went inactive I was, and still am, living in the Carolina Garrison region. Selling my armor to help with wedding costs was totally worth it, but for years I've wanted a Vader. I was always the Stormtrooper with too much black showing between the armor parts, always the Stormtrooper making (many, not all) Vaders look short around me and myself too tall, being 6'4". I'd like to be an active member of the 501st once again, but as a SL not a TK. I actually have a 3 digit number it's been so long since I first joined. I have already started putting my Vader together and I am well aware of the high standards the costume requires. Hoping to be back in action soon.

Thank you, Matt! It was a fun ride back then! I know there are plenty more good times ahead. I've already started on my Vader. Modding a helmet to be more accurate and have the shin guards. A long road ahead but I'm going to go down it.

Welcome back. We still have a few members active from back in your day... Brian Marchman does one event a year down in Charleston/DragonCon, and I'm sure you stay in contact with Cher up there in Charlotte. If you were one of the TK's in Columbia in 1999 (along with Albin), I met you at a costume contest at Columbiana Mall.

Thank you! My main problem seems to be finding good Vader armor. I bought some shoulder/chest armor but man... it needs a lot of help. I'm looking to just get something better.

Yeah I was up in Garrison Carida or 501ST Eastern Squad back in 1999, which I think might not have fully come into existance until about 2000. I've done Dragoncon as Matt the Radar Tech a few times And yep1 I know Cher. Known her since about 2004 now.
