Hello folks!
A little about me...52 yo woman whose kids have finally grown up so my life (and money!) are my own again! I'm a retired Marine that has somehow put down permanent roots here.
I'm in the very early stage of building a animated P2 Captain Rex costume. Armor has been ordered from Imperial Surplus and should be here in abt 3 to 4 more weeks. So far I've been working on collecting the soft items and getting the bucket into shape.
I could use some advice on 2 specific things.
1. Harness/strapping system. IS has decided to discontinue them. Where can I get one? Or how to build one?
2. Curved scissors. I can only seem to find pretty small ones. Is this going to be adequate or is there some place that sells better ones?
While I'm excited and impatient for my armor to arrive, I figure I've picked a decent time to begin this journey. Since COVID still has most events shut down, I won't feel I need to rush to get my outfit complete.
That's about it. If anyone has any tips, tricks or suggestions, I am ALL ears. Everything is appreciated!

Hello and greetings from Burgaw! You are lucky that our CO and my son are both filled with clone madness. You will get loads of local help. You may want to look for scisors at harbor freight. Look forward to troopong with you soon!

Burgaw, hmmm? You may be my new best friend! I have a build thread going on clonetroopers but there's nothing like in person instruction! They're good folks and are trying to help me but I feel like I'm asking the questions wrong. lol
Rex's pauldrons...the 3 shoulder parts. Are they supposed to lie completely flat or is some height allowed? My low profile velcro sticks them up a little bit. The crl isn't much help bc it doesn't give a good angle to answer my question. The kama....is it one piece all the way around or can I use 2 separate pieces of leather and cut & attach it so it just appears to be? Again, the crl isn't detailed enough to tell. Is it possible my suspender clips are too big to fit into the slots or am I doing something wrong? These are the types of things im struggling with atm.
I've begun fitting the armor to me but cutting parts off sends me into a "OMGVADERISGONNAFORCECHOKEME" kind of frenzy. So ANY help is greatly appreciated.....the calves are the current bane to my existence specifically.
So Thank You in advance for any tips! I'm struggling now but this isn't going to beat me and I will definitely be trooping with yall when covid lifts!
