We have 3 TIE Pilots here in Asheville, so lots of help available if needed! Reserve Pilot is always a good one to start with. You can get approved as that and then eventually work towards full pilot status. You can also use that suit to get approved as Bridge Crew or as the base of an Imperial Gunner. Lots of options.

Welcome Landon, Please make yourself at home, there is blue mile and imperial cookies as well
RC we have a vendor in the carolinas. Also not as hard as most think to build the kits (help do two) in the same vein as the normal clones kits just with cool LEDs and pack...
link to the Detachment for RC kits and addons :
http://forum.clonetroopers.net/
IMHO if i was your build I would look in the future a Vader. Vader gets aaaall the love and is always in demand. If i was 6 feet tall I would make it happen. something to think about.
Also there are Expanded Universe characters that you might like that you could do the Sw fans know:
Darth Revan
http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:SL_revan
Darth Malgus
http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:Darth_Malgus
Starkiller: Dark Lord's Armor
http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming ... lord_armor
link to the detachment for parts etc for Starkiller, Darth Malgus, Darth Revan:

If you have any questions we are happy to help.

Awesome info. I'm thinking of going with TIE reserve Pilot now and maybe working my way up to Pilot or maybe a Vader. I talked with the folks over at Polymer Armory and they even suggested going with a Vader or even a Wookie with my size (as I told my wife...Can't be an RC...darn my dynamic body). I signed up over at the JRS forum and signed up to have a mentor for a reserve pilot costume. I really don't know much about the Sith Lords other than Revan (love KOTOR) and Vader so I may go check out their page as well. Thanks again for all the advice.

If you are looking to do a Vader, Please sign up to the Sith Lord Detachment:
http://forum.501stsithlords.com/index.php?act=idx
When doing a Vader it is a must!!
BTW do not buy a "Rubies Vader supreme costume". you can but 90% have to change out the other 10% would hev to be modded to hit the basic 501st level.
There are several variants to Vader.link to the 501st standards:
http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:SLD_CRL
pick one and use the Sith Lord Detachment for parts and how tos...
Walking Carpet!!!
There is a guy in the local Rebel Legion: Ryan Ricks (great dude and a friend) that I feel has made one of the best Chewies. He sculpted the feet and face then plugged the hairs in, he does commissions.........

Also if you do the Wookie, then Rebel side you need to be on there site for approval etc...:

If you do a Tie Pilot , make sure not to get the resin cast helmets (origins are the Don post/Rubies) and are very small compared to an normal sized Tie helmet;
The Don Post casting is the smaller of the two in the pic below (99.999% of the cast Tie lids are originally from the Don post, look at a black ABS kit):

Well when you look into the Expanded Universe Sith the Flagship E forum that I gave you is the tops on what where and how...
Same goes with Vader (or any movie/cannon Sith) the Sithlord Detachment forum (that I linked above in the other post) is the best place to get your sith on...
If you have any questions, We are here!!

Only if you're looking to have someone custom tailor your soft parts. If not, there are some great options on the JRS forums.

Lot of the Tie Reserve and Bridge Crew parts are the same....
Info and where to get parts. I have link you to some of the correct parts vendors that have a great rep and you are not going out and having to take a stab in the dark. Also the info on the Imperial Bridge Crew is on the 501st Detachment "Imperial Officers Corp" Link:
http://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/
For Tie info:
http://www.jrs501st.com/forums/
Note the some or most vendors are on the Imperial Officers Corp. You can google and ebay but most of the times you will run into cheap product or will not fit even though the site said it would or the retail image is a great image of the item, but when you get the product, it does not look like they "said it would be"
These are great vendors with great rep and product (some do have Ebay shops) :
Jumpsuits:
best jumpsuits are from Far away Creations $90.00 plus shipping:
http://www.farawaycreations.com/index.p ... s&Itemid=7
The only thing you have to do is remove the bottom pockets (which ez)
If you are going to need a costume jumpsuit;
Arkady (Carole) i can get you her contact info (if you need it)
"imperial cog" emblem for the shoulders (screen accurate):
http://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/in ... lder-cogs/
Imperial Hat:
Hats are something you spend about $40 and up for one..Why? cause the ones that are about $16 to $30 on Ebay normally do not fit well and do not have the structure crisp look (cheap looking) David Jordan (other GML) just purchased a very nice Imperial Hat, because he did buy a cheap one and it did not fit him and was not crisp looking (lesson learned) . I will see where he got it from ...
I think is was this:
http://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/in ... -for-sale/
Same maker/vendor (two links):
http://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/in ... r-hats-fs/
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Star-Wars-Imper ... 2c9523d835
May need for some hat vendors do not hat the proper disk:
http://www.elvistrooper.com/disk.htm
Gloves ( T Pilot and ROTJ Bridge Crew only)
http://www.leathernext.com/Movie_Replic ... lot+Gloves
http://www.jrs501st.com/forums/viewtopi ... =vaderdave
Belt:
Good belt with buckle and disk:
http://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/in ... creations/
http://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/in ... icer-belt/
Also one of the 501st that has a Ebay account (very good/top notch) FYI, make best offer:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Star-Wars-Imper ... 3398c647f1
Boots:
German Jack Boots are not ez to find at a low cost.
Where I got mine is here:
http://www.epicmilitaria.com/product.ph ... -heelplate
You can look on Ebay. Note that some the water proofed ones are very tight on the legs (guys that have muscle etc) like this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/EAST-GERMAN-GEN ... 4ac6f7cb58
The ebay link above I do not recommend those style at all.
the Jack Boots are not ez to find, but if you post up you size of boot wear, I will be happy to point you to some that are great.
Imperial Communications Pad (T pilot and ROTJ bridge crew only):
accurate not to have the LED:
http://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/in ... ?hl=compad
(LED style)
http://www.jrs501st.com/forums/viewtopi ... lit=compad
Add ons:
Code Cylinders (ESB bridge crew only) :
http://www.elvistrooper.com/xtool.htm
Belt boxes (for Bridge crew):
http://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/in ... -for-sale/
(dosimeters style for ANH Ties):
http://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/in ... uy/page-10
Can point you to some great armor/lid vendors when you are ready........
