Star Wars Day at The Factory in Franklin, NC was a great first event! I think this was the first time we've trooped in Franklin, and the crowds really turned up. Was nice to see the little-ones dressed in their costumes at the event.
The Factory had moved their PodRacer arcade up to the front with us, and they had a Wii setup on the big screen with Lego Star Wars for the kids to play. We dressed-down at Noon, and a local karate instructor did a "Jedi Sword Demonstration". I didn't get a chance to see it, but I'm sure it was pretty cool.
Proceeds from the games went to the CareNet backpack program. This is a great program where kids of needy families are discreetly handed backpacks full of food and supplies at school. For some kids, this is the only food they get.
501st Troopers in attendance were: Lorne Ward, Joel McCoy and Andrew Norton
