As always, the 501st legion was a huge hit conducting a successful Droid Hunt and Droid Race as well as providing people the opportunity to get their photos taken with some of their favorite Star Wars characters. Among the Empire's finest to attend were Kenneth Jordan (TB-1345), Tom Gardner (TK-5943), David Jordan (TB-6559), Charles Moss (TR-2442), Todd Hoyle (TI-6212), and Bryan Kihlmire (RC-5540).
Special thanks goes to David Jordan, Todd Hoyle, and Tom Gardner for providing their droids for the droid race. Thank you to Kenneth Jordan for designing the artwork used for the droid hunt badges. Thank you to Charles Moss and Bryan Kihlmire for make the 2+ hour drive down to be at the convention. Thanks to Kenneth Jordan, David Jordan, and Tom Gardner for donating their action figures and their time to make the "Return of the Jedi: Action Figure Spectacular"! Thank you to Tom Gardner, Carolina Garrison CO who went above and beyond the call of duty to assist in creating the droid hunt badges and who also stepped in at the last minute to be the 3rd judge for the Super Hero Look-A-Like Contest!
Their Imperial presence once again helped bring in over four hundred guests into the library and helped raise $96 for the Wilkes County Public Library's summer reading programs that promotes reading, writing, and the arts and for that the Wilkes Library Con staff would like to solute the troopers of the 501st and all the volunteers that help make the convention possible every year!
We hope to see you next year at Wilkes Library Con 6 on July 26th 2014!
