Shake things up....

So, what's up Carolina? Really quiet around here. Any events coming? Any armor being constructed? Anybody awake...lol. I've been bouncing from site to site, and I must say this one is quiet . I notice a lot of posts unanswered and left hanging so to speak.
I know most people have moved on to other networks, Facebook and such. But even CG is quiet over there. We need to step up the activity, shake things up, get some interest in this Garrison. This is a very attractive page and I think we could make it a bit more lively , I know Carolina, and I know we are friendly people who like to help other people out. I say it's time to step things up, show other Garrisons we mean business.
I am really close to approval, so maybe I am not seeing the "good stuff" going on maybe in the 501 "approved" section. What I am saying is, once I get approved , I will be trying to orchestrate functions, and trying to attend others. Anyone have any interest in Kill Devil Hills? Maybe a parade, or a fund raiser?
Lets make some noise...
My name is Jason, and I am a Star Wars addict....

So what is up with no interaction? Is it always this quiet in this garrison? I have literally posted on every thread I can, and nothing. Well actually three people have replied. I have honest questions and comments. Am I being too forward or over bearing? I have asked about functions, events, builds, approval.... I guess it might be the fact that it is rather difficult to see when people post on your thread, but man... Have I wore out my welcome already? I got nuttin...

Most of the action on this site is in the 501st and CG members area. That's also where all the event discussion is and things like that. I know that in the Charleston area, everyone just texts or uses Facebook to talk and to some degree organize events. So I'm pretty sure that's how it is in other areas. As for people working on costumes, I think they either don't do build threads (I didn't) or they post them on their detachment's boards. In the future, if someone doesn't respond to your thread, it might be that they are just lurkers that don't post at all or that no one has seen it yet. I've only seen up to three people on here at a time myself included and it's usually the same ten or so people. Hope all this helps and good luck out there Trooper!

Cool, thanks for the reply, ...
So does the 501 st section have any more traffic than the public access section?
Also, I "like" the CG page on spacebook, but I see zero activity. Even the public relations officer was promoting twitter, and I don't tweat... I asked on the thread about where to find out about events and such, but I got nothing. I have been poking around on Garrison Tyranus forum, and they have loads of events , and lots of interaction .
I get the fact that most people just "lurk" but I would think some of the CO's would at least chime in. Fett has given me some useful interaction, and even suggested some other detachment boards to check out.
I would like to attend some events, and even organize some out by me, in eastern N.C. I plan on having a few sets of armour on hand, all 501 approved, and start with some smal events. My oldest son is 20 and he is in for the ride.A couple other friends, would be game as well. That makes four troopers , if I could get a couple more people, that would be fantastic. I have already talked with the hospital, and hotline, they are ecstatic about the idea. I am a official with a roller derby league and they are into the idea as well.
I want to bring the 501st legion to the outer banks, but I need CG's help.
Anyway thanks for chiming in, and your profile pic is cool... Do you really ride your motorcycle with your scout rig on? lol

Jason, if you want to take a road trip to Charlotte the 18th of January there is an event where a large number of us are scheduled to take part in. We'd like to meet you and help you out too. Large number meaning 10 +.

It wasn't my bike. It was a promo bike for a fire station or something. We were at an event at one. The guy wanted me to pose with it so of course I jumped at the chance. Chris, another scout, sometimes shows up on his bike though. It is pretty cool to see.

I got your invite on spacebook... Looks like fun. It's not too far, about 4.5 hours unfortunately I am going to Virginia that weekend for a family ski trip, otherwise I would be there.
I really need to submit photos for approval, but work has been extremely busy and hectic. It's good to have a lot of work, but also stressful at the same time, I need to have some fun and blow off some steam...
Maybe the next one , thanks for the invite Brian...

I would be nervous to ride my bike with a trooper helmet on, limited vision...
Cool profile picture though ...

I swap helmets when I ride the motorcycle. The Scout doesn't have enough peripheral vision to change lanes!
