Florence Toy, Hobby, and Action Figure Show 2-22-14

This was a weird one. I got almost no sleep (you can see in the pictures our Mando friend was a bit tired as well), forgot a part of my costume and doubled back, had to speed the whole way there to arrive at 10:30am, and had to talk an X-Wing pilot into convincing his ride there to stick around longer for us all to be in pictures together. The event was basically just vendor tables in the main room, mostly selling vintage action figures. A few had comics and video games, but the focus was definitely on old action figures like G.I.Joe, He-Man, Star Wars, MASK, etc.

The crowd wasn't great, but stayed steady for the 3 hours I was in costume (11am-2pm). It was me (BikerScout), Alex (Mando Merc), and for the first hour, Brad (X-Wing Pilot submitting his costume to the RL soon). The kids that saw us were amazed or scared. The adults were probably split 50/50 between not caring at all and wanting to tell us it was amazing we were there. We didn't have many people take pictures of us, but we definitely had more taken than the SC Ghostbusters (there were 4 of them with an impressive table set up next to us). I wasn't aware we'd have a table to set up, but I had my box of blasters that I don't mind kids holding for pictures, so my girlfriend Stacy spread those out neatly on the table next to the Mandalorian helmet I've been building for her.

The guy running it, Patrick, said he'd love to have us back next year, and possibly at something in Fayetteville, SC in the fall or early winter, so keep an eye out for that. He apologized for the short notice and understood why so few of us could make it and why we seemed unprepared (not knowing about the table).

Great job, Chris! I know that feeling of being at a small expo and people are 50/50 that you are even there. But BIG thanks for making the drive and the effort to attend. It was definitely a very last minute invite from the organizers. Perhaps that's why they forgot to tell me about a table being available.
