Another great Star Wars Reads Day has come and gone. For the second time, members of the Carolina Garrison in Charleston, SC appeared at the Charleston County Library (Downtown Charleston) to celebrate reading in both children & adults as well as sharing a love for a galaxy far, far away.

It was an early setup time but probably one of our biggest 501st Legion displays in this area. We had a Death Star wall backdrop for photos, banners, flags, mannequins, props on display and so much more. The general public loved taking picture's with the 501st Legion, Rebel Legion, R2D2 as well as a lone Madalorian Merc, browsing over prop blasters, and being able to pick up some general information & trading cards to take with them.

The festivities included: a Star Wars books display / reading center, viewing of The Clone Wars animated film (in the children's sitting area), SWRD activities, 11:00 am costume contest (with prizes), Star Wars craft table, Star Wars trivia contest and so much more.

Here's the article on our event as well as the interview they filmed for the 11:00 News that day

Fun event. Kids really seemed to have a good time with us there and the library loved it.

Garrison members please read up on our protocol for handlers over in the CG only section of the forums.
