Hey everyone...
Brand new to the forum. My name is Michael Dhonau from Charlotte. Always been a big fan of the Snow Troopers so I also registered for the Blizzard Force page. Gonna try to make it to the upcoming Checkers game uptown on Star Wars night to say hello if any of you all are planning to be there :snowtrooper:

Hey Tom, and thanks everyone. While Im saving cash for the future armor purchase, I am really enjoying reading thru the forums and stories people are sharing. Especially one on the Blizzard Force page about a group troop to Norway and some of the incredible photos and video taken. Im also thinking my first purchase may be a pair or two of the Canadian Army mucks used for conversion to Snow Trooper boots. Anybody got a favorite military surplus connection?

Yeah I bought a new pair and a used pair. They arrived in the mail a few days ago. Im not sure why people have been posting on forums that they run big. As somebody familiar with outdoors/winter sports gear, if you wear them as they're designed (i.e. with liners and inserts) they run the same size as your regular shoe size. I normally wear size 8 shoes and my boot is an 8M.

Coolness

There has always been issues with the Mukluks sizes and people worrying about the size. i think it is cause by the german jack sometimes not fitting when the shoe charter tells you "this should be this" and getting them and they are 3 sizes too small....

But the Canadian and US foot wear sizes are the same.

Yeah if you wear the liners get your normal shoe size. If you are not going to wear the liners then go about 2 sizes smaller.

Mukluks that I have seen never come in half sizes (have no clue) other than the liners give you a wee bit of play.

Have you looked into the armor makers?

TrooperMaster is also making TS armor now.

And Scootch, cap-west also makes TS, just in Styrene (HIPS) so it all need painted.

TrooperMaster is not the best with the TS armor (great TK are not TS)

Dan Law is bad about slow shipping and both the TK and TI detachments have had major issues with D Laws and his slow shipping and non~communications..... THE JRS had to have their DL step in and be the middle man, And D Laws is not welcomed on the FISD (long story).

Honestly the Hips is a lot of work....Scootch would be out

Now Great TS armor:
Bobamaker
Moncal
RS

Those three hit the mark in my book.

Funny thing is that Moncal is the one doing the Anovos, but you are paying an up-charge for the Anovos/licensed product. IMHO if you are going to do Anovos just buy the Moncal (Jeff's armor is only $450) then get the other parts via the Blizzard Force "Duster,Pouches, Pants " and save ya $800 to $1000
