This was my 3rd Star Wars Day with the Stingrays. They have changed promotional directors for each one, but this time the guy was really into Star Wars and had a few fun events planned for us. Our Rebel Pilot Wedge Antilles did the puck drop. He also played goalie opposite the Empire's Tie Pilot with teams of children playing "broom ball" in the first intermission. For the second intermission, Taylor and I did a 2 lap race on oversized tricycles that left me hurting for hours. The video that Brad (Wedge) shot of this has been shared over 600 times on Facebook now, reposted by The 501st and Pathfinders Detachment.

While the game was going, we stayed near our table, which was unfortunately placed under a window facing the sunset making pictures difficult. That didn't stop people from trying though. We were consistently busy taking pictures and talking up the legion. Our handler Chris Etzel took most of these photos. He moved to the area 2 years ago, and used to troop with a friend's spare costume, so he's very familiar with us and what we do. He's working on his own Tarful (wookie from Ep3) and I can't wait to see it.

Troops in attendance:
Jason Boyd - sandtrooper
Ronnie Boyd - Tie pilot
Taylor Seay - biker scout
Chris Gould - biker scout

Rebel Legion
Brad Butler - x-wing pilot (actually Wedge Antilles, but hasn't applied to the RL with this)

Looks like fun! That R2 is way cool, love the weathering. Y'all look great. Love the X - Wing pilot too. I seen Garrison Tyranus posted a video of you guys on the trikes.

He has a lot more weathering since I last saw him. Styrene is starting to crack and the weathering is hiding white duct tape. Ed says he's working on a new aluminum build, but the parts makers have a long wait.

I had a great time at this event. The SC Stingrays really put up some great publicity and had us doing fun stuff. The onslaught of pics with Star Wars fans was fun as always. Love posing for pictures. Hopefully we get invited back again.

It is good that you had a good program director. I remember the last one that I worked with was, shall we say, less than stellar.

I'm excited to work with him again in March. I'm trying to coordinate and get my G.I.Joe group involved with Military Appreciation Night.
