The Empire just got a little bigger

Greetings everyone!
I am new to the 501st, but have been following on facebook for years now. I have been in contact with my liaison officer and am now working on piecing my uniform together. I am finding that the empire didnt have wookies in mind when they designed outfits. I am looking to start off with the Tie Reserve Pilot, and work into the 181st Tie Pilot.
German boot sizes are starting to look like a problem, i think the common size would fit my 5 year old daughter. Anyone know how to locate something in a 13?
Will keep searching the EWW (empire wide web haha) and see what comes up.
I will also be getting into the Jolly Roger Squadron site soon.

Brandon, glad to see you on here bud. Let's look around for the size 13.. I don't think the empire had wookiees in mind when they made the boots... Ha, we will find some bro. For sure check on the JRS.
Good luck sir.

Finding correct boots in ANY size is probably going to be your greatest challenge. The Sportsman's Guide surplus site is a good starting point. I joined the 501st back in 2006 and the costume standards were a bit more relaxed in those days. I've had five different pairs of boots since joining the Legion - Mechanic's boots (no longer approved) Black PVC Vinyl boots (don't know if they still approve them now) and now my third pair of surplus Officer boots bought from a fellow CG member are my "Go To" boots. Beware buying what you cannot see and try on to see how they fit. The European shoe sizes are smaller than USA sizing, but you probably already know that. I wish much luck!

The TIE armor build is rather easy. I assembled my Dad's TIE pilot and it was pretty fun. Although we found the TIE armor makers process of a quick turn-around time to be something to be desired. Long wait for TIE armor. That was 2 years ago. I'm sure the wait list is about the same.

yeah i considered the Anovos TIE, but they dont seem to have a kit option and $1,500 seems a bit much considering it doesnt come with boots and probably wont fit me perfectly

Regardless of which armor you buy it all has to be custom fitted to your body type pretty much. After boots, gloves, armor, helmet, comm pad, hoses & belt w/ buckle my Dad's TIE cost just around $1000
His armor kit came from Moncal (Faraway Creations)

Got my kit from Moncal also. Wait time was a bit crazy.

I'll message this moncal person and get a estimate. If its two years+ like ive heard I might just start saving for the anovos. There was a TIE pilot at a armor party I went to last year, I should ask him.

Here's a contact email for Faraway Creations (aka MonCal)

Honestly, I think for my Dad to get his armor and stuff from Moncal was around 6-9 months. Some armor vendors have quick turn-around and some can be months, maybe even years unfortunately. That's the one thing with the hobby. Sometimes it can be a waiting game.
Right now I'm working on my third set of 501st armor (Imperial Royal Guard), and I paid for my helmet kit almost 1 month ago. It still hasn't shipped. But in the meantime, if you're waiting on a piece of armor or something like that....check and see if you can't work on another piece of the ensemble.
For instance, I have been building my RotJ Force Pike & pricing fabric while waiting for the helmet kit to arrive.
