Triangle-area newbie reporting for duty!

Hello all! My name's Kat and I currently hail from Apex, NC (#1 small town in NC although still not close enough to Raleigh to get Google Fiber!). I recently completed an Imperial Staff Officer uniform and have applied for 501st membership, so now I'm just waiting for the paperwork to go through, so to speak. I've been active on the IOC Detachment forums for several weeks now, also posting under the username sundancekat, if any of y'all are also members there.
I'll be attending Cosplay America in Chapel Hill this weekend, both to help out the con chair (a friend), annoy some of the guests (more friends), and get a chance to wear my uniform in a fairly low-stress situation before I sweat to death in it next month at Dragoncon. Maybe I'll see some of you there?

Welcome Kat! Just a little North of you in Raleighville. From what I hear, google fiber is a few years off still where I live. Looking forward to it though! Should have a few trooping opportunities for Make-a-Wish in Raleigh in October listed soon.

Glad to see there's so much Triangular activity here. I'm in Pittsboro, just getting myself familiar with the forums here. Looking forward to an event I can attend to shake a hand or two.
