I am a new comer to the 501st forums. Even though I've been following you socially for years and love what you do. Recently I have decided that I am ready to make the jump in to full on Joining. I was wondering if anyone was around my area and if I could maybe pick your brain about a few things. I don't have much experience with making costumes and I honestly don't have the space to make one from scratch. But getting to talk to someone and get a better understanding of what I should look for or where I can go for parts would be great.

It's great to finally hear from someone. I was scared that this Board had died. My main issue is that I'm having a hard time figuring out the Sellers. I finally figured out a few but they are UK based, and I would prefer a US based one.

Oh, the Carolina Garrison is quite active, I'm assuming everyone has just been busy with all the TFA troops and the holidays. What are you planning on building?

There are a few armorers stateside that are affordable and have decent products. Walts Trooper Factory is decent, ATA, and even Scootches custom fab shop in California . Mike fromTrooperBay, he can provide TK kits.

I'm torn between doing a Stranded StromTrooper, or a Biker Scout Trooper. I've joined the Biker Scout forums, and have been trying to read up on as much stuff as possible.

Scouts are nice - I have a TB and TX - comfortable and easy to get around in. I can also put the entire rig on by myself. Studio Creations (SC) makes a great kit and ships fast normally.

The lid can be a bit tricky but the forums (or me) will help with that.

I just invested in a TK and a world of difference in mobility and you will definitely need help putting it on. I do notice a different reaction from fans, seems they are more comfortable with it vs the Scout.

Both great options. There's a ton of info on the Pathfinders forums as well as the FISD. If you decide to build a TK, there's definitely a lot of US based armor builders.
