(SC) Jan. 11 - Lander University Homecoming
Posted: Mon Jan 11, 2016 8:29 pm
Today, we made an appearance at Lander University in Greenwood, SC. We were asked to help them promote their Homecoming event which will take place in the near future.
We arrived and unloaded early. They had a room in the Student Center reserved for us to use as a changing room. Once we were suited up, we were met by the Director of Student Activities and started on our promo tour of the campus.
It was our job to just draw a crowd while the Director handed out flyers and enlisted students to participate in Homecoming activities. As you probably already guessed, we were very good at our job.
Students crowded around to take pictures. LOTS of pictures. Lander also had a photographer follow us around. We went from the Student Center plaza, to the courtyard, to the Dining Hall. Here, we took a photo with University President, Dr. Richard Cosentino.

501st Legion members in attendance were Alex Brown (TK-3855) and Bryan Roller (TK-14082). Our Vader was Lander alum and BCM President Blake Fisher, who is now intetested in the Legion. The TIE reserve pilot is Lisa Neal who usually volunteers as a handler and photographer for us.
We enjoyed this troop very much and Lander is interested in using us again in the future. We even got to sit down with their Marketing Director and tell him about who the Legion is, and what we do. After it was over, they were kind and hospitable to treat us to an authentic collegiate dining experience. It was great!
