Carolina Garrison

Hello all. I've been lurking around the forums off and on for a couple months now while I have been getting my 501st TK suit together. I am almost 17 and not able to join the 501st yet, however I have been told that I can troop alongside the garrison at events. I was told I would be notified about events in my area and this has not happened, as the section of forums which covers event discussion is closed to non-members. I completely understand this and the need to keep things under wraps.

Is there a better way I can get information on getting involved in the 501st or to participate in troops?

What part of the Garrison do you live in? There really isn't a notification system, but your best bet would be to get to know some members in your area and stay in touch with them about events.

I am in the Clemson area in South Carolina. So Greenville, Columbia, Easley, and Spartanburg are all in reach. So essentially all of Upstate SC is doable.

-Edit- I will be at the G'Ville ComiCon on Saturday as a TK with a 501st buddy of mine, Teddy Hatcher he isn't planning on running with the main group at least not at first. I just don't want to just show up out of the blue without coordinating to talking to people doing events in my area.

There should be a few members there, so that's a good opportunity to meet some people.

I'll be there on Saturday as the Seventh Doctor, my daughter will be Ace. We will be sure to stop by the booth.

I'm coming down Sunday hopefully to meet some of the members.

I wish I could make this one, but I'll be in NYC for the weekend.

Went today. Tons of people there. Very exciting meeting some of the artist from favorite comics. Seen a mandalorian mercy and TI pilot as well. Looking forward to finishing my build now.

You won't have access to our Event Threads until you are official 501st member. Our event calendar is on our main page but you must be 18 years old to troop and/or join the 501st Legion / Carolina Garrison. You're not too far away from that age minimum it would seem though. If you see us at an event, please free free to chat it up with some members to find out more and to see how things are done in an event setting.
